The Sharks back line = is the warning lights starting to flash

 Competition within a squad is always good and whilst Swiel and Esterhuizen are both exceptionally good players, I dont think Fransie has much to worry about at the moment if he keeps turning in these performances of late. He is a solid player and you rarely ever see Fransie lose ground with ball in hand and be dominated in a collision..
We do however need all 4 of these guys (Lambie, Swiel, Esterhuizen and Steyn) to be playin well. Esterhuizen and Swiel need to be able to slot in with minimum disruption.
Is Heimar Williams injured or has Jake just decided to take bigger attacking threats to expose the Bulls "all smoke no fire" centre combination?
Cant believe these 2 centres of the Bulls that promised so much have delivered so little. We all know JJ's problems but I am losing faith in Serfontein as a Bok too.
Sharks to get ahead early and do the job this weekend!

I do not think that Williams is injured.  He started in one game and was disappointing - so I think he is givren mre time to show what he can do  by playing Vodacom Cup Rugby.
As to Francois Steyn his performance in his last three matches was anything to be proud about.  He never makes more than 3 meters over the advantage line when carrying balls = is tackled by the first defender normally.  His ball handling and retention was not up to standard - lost possession too many times.  He also seems to hang onto balls when tackled and give away penalties.
There are speed problems as well - just look at the Harris try and his tackling has not been up to standard.   Missed too many tackles.
On the positive side - he kicked long distance penalties accurately.   The question remains - are the negatives acceptable when measured against the last positive?   I think not - so the only thing Steyn can do is to start playing positive rugby - which was essentially absent from his last three games.   A player scoring zero points on Foxsport - despite two penalty conversions - like Steyn did last week, definitely shows serious performance deficiencies.
I know he has a massive reputation - but if I was him I would start worrying about his position in the team - at this stage White's patience is being stretched and thet is not a good situation for the player concerned.
        

Great to see Swiel on the bench. I hope this is the case for the rest of the season unless he is starting. I am sure he has the potential to be better than Lambie.
I am not sure why Hiemaar even got a chance to start given that Esterhuizen has so much potential. I would like to see a centre combination of Steyn and Esterhuizen- a powerhouse combo. 

 Sorry boys - but Esterhuizen is a 12 and he has shown that in the past - so I do not think he would adapt easily to play at 13.  Any center playing outside Steyn suffers badly and I would not wish that to happen to the poor bugger .  Other than the first game this year - Steyn had a very poor Super 15 thus far this year - and that is a fact.
         

 I love how most have completely dismissed Serfontein, but I guess most do have a different flavour each day. Now the Bulls have an adequate flyhalf, watch Serfontein express himself. Pollard was exposed in the Bulls vs Sharks match 2 months ago and left Serfontein to dry.
Serfontein has an undeniable quality despite Mozarts best efforts to say otherwise. He does have a mountain to climb in his opposite number Steyn, but he would've benefited playing against him earlier in the season. This match isn't going to be as easy won for the Sharks as one might think, I'd even go as far as saying the Bulls might win this one.
I'm even too afraid as to predict who I think may win.  

Here is the truth. Serfontein arrived with huge hype. In his first few matches he seemed set to deliver. He brought lots of energy, injected some spunk into moribund JJ Engelbrecht and made a few nice breaks. 
Then he went off to the Boks and his playing time dwindled. But when he had a chance, all he produced was an inside step and a monotonous desire to take on the defence. He was an easy read.
Since then he has played undistinguished S15 rugby. Sure I read the usual Corn excuse....it was the flyhalf. Tell that to BOD who played most of his career outside O Gara.
Serfontein is still young and he is a more natural competitor than JJ. I suppose he could come good...Horan, another inside stepper did. But most high quality centres show early in their test careers. He needs to do something soon or others will pass him by.

 Moz tell me this, what chance has he had in his test career so far. 
Quit this debate straight away if you're going to mention Ellis park. 
His 10 minute camoes are not chances. 
There's nothing wrong with an inside step. 
Mozart, BOD is a bloody 13 with pace to burn. Serfontein is slower, which 12's tend to be. He has never been mentioned to be a pace demon, his key attributes being his decision making, distribution, strength and line breaking capabilities. 

All of which attributes have scarcely been in evidence this S15. I concede his test exposure has been more of a difficulty than an opportunity ....so I'm totally open minded, but not very optimistic.

 Sorry - typing error - and it has been corrected.   You must always be the joker.   Just look at some players and your mind is as closed as book that has not been opened for two decades.    
Just one example - Fransie makes bugger up after bugger up - no response but endless praise singing.  Other players make one bugger up and it remains on your books for years afterwards.
So let the open=minded issue remains - in this case it is at least worth some comical value/

Never a truer word spoken as Mozarts piece on Serfontein..100% on the money...He is going to be passed by if he does not come good soon...Guys like Fransie and Esterhuizen just offer so much more..
