When Henshaw ghosted through the gap in the first half only to lose the ball when he was impeded in a potential try scoring pass….I was reminded of what real centres do. Henderson runs into the gaps, not the tacklers. Which is why he made 47 metres from 7 carries whereas Dud Allende could only manage 54 from 13.

Dud Allende runs into Biggar.

Henderson is a creative player….he moves to the right spots, often takes the ball at pace and tries not to die with the ball. Dud Allende runs into Biggar.

So to me Henshaw provides a whole lot more than a cloud of dust and a reset. The great centres in Bok history….Gainesford, Gerber and Jean….looked to break the line. Henson is one of those players. Dud Allende runs into Biggar.

Put it this way if you were playing 13 who would you rather play outside of Dud Allende or Henshaw?

Ah so de Allende has never run into space? Henshaw never created that opportunity and has never been renowned for his creativity His strength is his strength - always been a power player You don’t know your players Moz The sea opened up for Henshaw which lead to many of those metres gained and you want to define him over de Allende based on that Why are you so anti de Allende - your inability to grasp his value speaks volumes for your grasp of the game It’s the same with your takes on metres gained by players in traffic you bang on about PSDT only gaining a metre a time - much like Etzebeth, Itoje, AWJ etc do de Allende is a better centre than Henshaw who is himself a good player - a power player through and through

Henderson has a step something Allende completely lacks. I’d take Henson any day.

Lawes 8 runs 33 metres….Conan 12 runs 48 metres…..Dud Toit 5 runs 8 metres.

Lawes 6 passes/2 offloads

Conan 4 passes

Dud Toit 1 pass/no offloads

The numbers tell the story.

Ah Moz your take on rugby is marginally better than Omelette You are both fucking clueless Good old Lawes has been super shit for ages has one good game and you with your big brain are too fucking stupid to comprehend the full picture Conan can’t even make the Irish side and was a non entity on Saturday but let me guess you are pathetic enough to probably take him over PSDT It’s not the job of a blindside to run in space you dumb fuck, he is there to operate in traffic But hey ho shock shock rugby is not an exact science and good old Lawes who is as thick as pigshit finds himself in space in a one off If I have a pea brain you clearly have fuck all brains - you’ve displayed that over decades on here You are rugby clueless

I'm glad Damian have up on the hop before contact. That was very hard to watch. In 2013 to Super rugby 2015, Damian was used in space, not as a crashballer. They have a four man pod in the middle of the field and work him around the corner into space. Lots of little plays to get him out wide. Meyer used all of them against Australia in 2015, and they were onto everything. Meyer grafted all of the things he knew from the Stormers and asked him to do that and he was exposed. Meyer began tweaking the gameplan and by the WC, he carved out a role as a more direct player in the inner channels and attacking the seams. Meyer gave up on giving him responsibility to read play and make decisions. He had no skills and can't read play. Fast forward from 2015 to 2019, in the WC final and Damian blows a Willie break because he has no feel for the flow of play. You don't need to read some things, you should feel the flow of the movement. He can't do that and instead runs into the teeth of the defence. It sums him up. Esterhuizen links up in those situations often, as one of our very best distributing players. Damian is now stuck in the role that Meyer made for him. He has yet to excel and have a breakout game for the Boks.
