carving up the Ozzies at Bellerive Oval, leading the charge in the absence of premier strike bowler Steyn is the ageless Vernon Philander. I was hoping for a contest, a dig in with some solid old style batting making for an interesting tussle out in the middle but this super goat Philander, is simply the best.
Aaahh UrineRooi, I know you're reading this.....meant to ask......I notice Faf ignored your Golden Rule...win toss bat first....is he another ignorant Noob like myself?
Score @ lunch is 6/43

Damn! This Aussie side looks like our rugby side! That must be a near record low in tests for them? Anyway, well done Philander!

Well, IMNSHO Warner got out to a rash shot but then Philander and Abbott bowled in such a way so as to exploit the wicket to it's max potential. The Ozzie bowlers have failed to match the smarts of our bowlers.

The Ozzies hit back after lunch by bowling a better length and line gaining quick results but the bird had flown, Day 1 honours belongs to the Proteas. It's a tricky wicket, bowler friendly, a lead of 200 runs should wrap up the series. For that to happen either Bavuma and/or QDK needs to score big. Juicy contributions from Maharaj and Philander would prove invaluable but one batsman has to score in the high 80's.
There's still a lot of fascinating cricket in this test with a dicy wicket holding sway, I sense the Ozzies have a new resolve.

One has to ask the obvious question.....
Will this flood of dripping egg rushing off Piss Mint's face ever come to an end
In the last T20WC, which was won by the Windies, Darren Sammy the Windies Captain, won the toss a record 9 times, on each occasion he decided to have a bowl, the team only lost one game throughout the tournament and that was against lowly Bangladesh.
Strange how Darren Sammy hadn't heard of UrineRooi's Golden Rule.
