Posts: 8900RE: How do we get rid of Meyer
August 26, 2014, 23:14:36 Moz I don't bleat.....there is a
reason I keep shouting that we
have more great young talent
at our disposal than ever and
for that reason believe we have better players than NZ and with
the right coach and team we
should be number 1 in the
rankings.
At fullback we have willie an equal match for Ben smith.
On the wing they have savea who is tops with only an in form jp able to challenge. So my first call is jp on the wing and not at centre.
Corey Jane on the other wing is average at best. Is hendricks our best option  outside of habana and jp? No he is not, he is good but kolbe, kobus v/wyk, rhule, sinatla and sithole are all better and would make a difference.
At 13 the kiwi s have smith and fikito. In the last test between SA and NZ, JJ out played smith by some distance, so without doubt he would make a difference.
At 12 the kiwi s have nonu and crotty. Nonu is on a par with Jean both past it. Serfontein  is on tour but not being used. He is better than Jean, nonu and crotty.
At 10 the kiwis have Cruden and barritt,  we have pollard on a par and useless Morne. Lambie and Goosen are on par if not better than the kiwi pair and would be a vast improvement on useless Morne.
At 9 the kiwis have smith we have useless pienaar. Hougaard, reinach, De klerk and v/zyl are all as good as smith and therefore any one of them would be better than passive Pienaar.
That's just the backs I think you get the picture.

And their folks we have the take from [REMOVED]. Earl Rose is the Tiger Woods of Rugby, and S affex is the Tiger Woods of rugby fans.
You will never find a more bias and one eyed fan boy. If it is one of his young favourites, they are the best. If they do not play well it is because of the other players, the coach, and anything else.  Or they did actually play well in his minds eye, even if they were crap.
Any Springbok legend is a washed up has been, and can be replaced with a player with one or two decent curry cup level performances.
JJ for example easily outplayed Conrad Smith who is arguably the best outside centre in the world. JJ currently cant make the starting lineup of a Curry Cup team and is on the bench.

Shark twat now if only you could come up with some original rugby material - it would be so refreshing as you come across as such a nice guy, not a sad worthless twat that some might conclude.
For the record JJ completely outplayed Smith in the last test against the AB s and that's a FACT. He also outplayed him in last year's s15 when he knocked smith out.
Smith is good but not nearly the best 13 in the game. Ashley - Cooper, Davies, Bosch and Tuilagi are better for a start. Fikito looks better than him already. Smith is past it much like nonu and Jean are

S affex, how did JJ outplay Smith when he knocked him out? It was just an unfortunate tackle. JJ probably crapped himself and took a step backwards instead of forwards, and caused Smith to mistime the tackle and hit his face on JJ's knee.
At least when Smith was lying on the sideline knocked out, he was not a defensive liability as per JJ.

Unfortunate my arse JJ ran into him and knocked him out end of.
In the test he ran through smith as well - fact.
Defensive liability you say.....are you sure, funny that his defensive stats were better than jeans in the RC against oz and nz.
And in this s15 JJ was in the top 5 defensively at centre over the whole comp. So try again liar.

It is a poor tackle. Even the commentator Bob Skinstad said that as much.
It was the first tackle that JJ has ever broken in his career. The only reason was that Conrad Smith' hit his head on JJ's knee, and got knocked out instantly. This allowed JJ to break free.....

This is Morne and JJ trying to see who can tackle the worst.

This is one of his team mates trying to help him make a tackle as JJ is about to be handed off. (Also know as the JJ handbag tackle as he gets carried around the opposition players like a handbag).

Smith got his head on the wrong side of the tackle. That mostly results in a knock-out.

After having watched some highlights reels I have to say Engelbrecht looked all business on the attack last year. What went wrong?

Ah so JJ never ran into him it was all smiths fault geez you lot are clowns. Let me guess had Jean run into smith it would have been pure magic and strength from Jean.
This is about as bad as moz s take on malherbe s scrumming versus the disgraceful efforts of steenkamp

This is one of Sapp's stoopidest elusions. It was poor technique by Smith...nada to do with JJ. Rather point out instances where this "powerful" JJ actually broke through a tackle as Jean does regularly. Breath on this male model and he hits the deck.

Ha, if you watch the slow motion you can see JJ slow up and flinch before impact. This is what you would normally do to run over someone?

 JJ better than Conrad Smith?

Goosen, Pollard & Lambie the equal of Cruden?

Serfontein better than Nonu & Crotty?

JP the equal of Savea?

Hougaard, Reinach etc as good as Aaron Smith?

Please put that joint out Saff and get to bed. It may become clearer to you in the morning!....

jean doesnt break through tackles regularly but he cant hit a gap. he is like a wing in that way but not like a hard running 12.

There is not one Bok back player who would displace an AB back player. Results are enough to support this.

Snapster is more correct than some folk give him credit for. However given that skills are a requirement they will not produce as well as the wee ab backline. Individually as good but not as good collectivley because of skills and game plan. Take Reinach for example who can doubt he is a superior athlete to Aaron Smth.Again Allende is a superior athlete to Conrad. Willie to Ben Smith. Habana to Carol Jane etc.

It will be interesting to see how the Bok backline goes agaisnt the wee abs. We have pace to burn in the back three and a solid centre pairing. However Pienaar and Morne if selected could kill the backline. But our idea is to get in a backline coach with a year or two experience at Vodacom cup level and the wonder why the backs dont quite fire. It fills the quota requirements no doubt but quotas come second/third/fourth etc. Boks need best backline coach available from anyhwere in world.
We also want to play a more running game but Meyer will insist in playing Alberts at 7.If we want to paly a more running game play Strauss at hooker, and play Coetzee at 7Think also of whiteley at 8. Once Malherbe is fit play him as he is much better around the park that Jannie and looks to be a stronger scrummager as well. etc etc. Note how low Malherbe was able to scrum against the argies. The props of course setting the hieght of the scum not the locks as Dr Mozzz was imagining!!!Having some more forwads who can playing a running game would help the backline immensely.
Some groupie may argue wee matfield helps out in the backs but his tackling is more powder puff than de Jongh. His main weapon is, appropriately enough, a dummy as nobody thinks he can even run though a wide open gap which of course ou matfiled can do! Beeno giving credit where credit is due.
Abs use bent read as a backline player and he has some skills here. Not a man you need when the going gets tough of course.
We need desaprately need a strategist in the Bok camp.

actually beenbag we have the skills to match anybody but we dont plan a real attacking structure like proper attacking teams do. our players are expected to just go out their and play like they are hooked up with Borg like singularity. a lack of planning means hesitancy and that results in errors. thats the problem. when the teams have a plan they execute beautifully... just look at the cheetahs.. not the bets sklil players in south africa but they execute damn well. but they have a REAL backline coach.

Gonzou I have long pointed out how well the Cheetahs and even the Lions play with few big name players.
What I am pointing out is that if you dont have loose forwards to reach the breakdown quickly and even play amongst the backs it becomes dangerous to play wide. Today even your props need to be mobile. We have forwards who are physical and mobile. However the pack needs to be reconstructed to allow for a more attacking style. Personally I thing a pack of Beast, Strauss, Malherbe Loodt/Willemse Etzebeth, And a loose trio of Coetzee, Vermuelen Louw with Whitely or Van der Walt etc in the picture can play a very high temp game without losing traditional Bok physicality.
Now you have a pack matched to your intentions. Then you also get in a world class backlne coach and Nieaber as defence coach and you are set to go.

It is more the fact that this All Blacks team has rid itself of any reliability on certain individuals. Of late during various stages of the recent campaign there has been no Tony Woodcock, Dan Carter, Ma’a Nonu, Conrad Smith or Jerome Kaino – representative of over 400 Test matches.

Even McCaw can apparently be replaced.

It is the overarching desire of most coaches, to set up a series of systems and processes that ensure that the motion of the machine is not altered with different moving parts.

The US Navy calls this redundancy.

We first saw it in 2011, Carter, Cruden, Slade and then Donald were slotted in without any major disruptions. The theme has continued this year even though this so called seamless environment will be examined with fresh blood likely at hooker in the coming weeks.

Habana would definitely start for New Zealand, even over Savea. Hansen would have to put Savea at right wing.
Willie Le Roux would be extremely close to starting for New Zealand, probably be on the bench. Serfontein would be in the squad.
