Murray/Fed will be all about Murray's back and Feds new racket. Having the back as an automatic excuse may just free up Murray, but I'm hoping for Fed.

Bizarre final, but the Stanimal deserved it. He outplayed Raffa through a break in the second set..after that it was really a non contest with Raffa's back. Till the injury it was hard to bet against resilient Spaniard, even when down.
What was established before the injury is that a great one handed backhand can live with the best two handed stroke from the baseline...if not on the return of serve.
Stan has the power on the serve that Fed is missing, he is also a better volleyer. His ability to out slug Raffa suggests the next change for Fed..strength training. For me I'm content with watching the Stanimal...another great moz pick.

@mozter,
saw some highlights on the news. what was the story with nadals injury break??? that stan dude was quite fired up but media didnt really explain what went down.
have to say i was a little disappointed with fed x who ive always liked, his media interview after his loss to nadal was quite crybabyish.

Not surprised Fed did some whining....he is not quite in the Blade Runner's league, but not always a gracious or manly loser.
Nadal was fine until about the fourth game of the second set. The Stanimal had bludgeoned his way to a second set break, when die Nadal pulled up on a shot, grimacing! After that there were various trips to the physio, but he couldn't hit out on his serve or cover wide balls. Stunningly Stan was so thrown by the whole thing...he blew the third set against a struggling Nadal...but sanity prevailed in the fourth.
Stan apparently is the first Major winner to go through Nadal and Djokovic.

@mozter,
who is the blade runner???
pity that fed x is a bit of bitch, i never realised he was that kind of a player and his stock has dropped big time in my books.
thanks for explaining what happened to raffa, but why was stan so possed of at the officials???
would it also be fair to say that if raffa wasnt hurt, its unlikely that stan would have won???
nice win for stan though, not easy beating raffa or djokovic once, let alone both on the road to a slam.

..." is that a great one handed backhand can live with the best two handed stroke from the baseline..."
He's one handed backhand is refreshing to watch considering the chain of double handed backhands out there. Backed by the skill of sending it straight down the line not only just cross court makes for a very special player.

The Blade Runner is Oscar the Piss. This is an athlete we all admired. I saw him run in the Olympics, and it was unreal....stunning. But the first aberrant signal was in the Para games when he sourly went after the Brazilian kid who beat him in the 200. The rest is history.
I agree Denny, Wawrinka's down the line play is superb...even handling off pace balls where the ball has to be heavily topped in the up the line shot.
