Australia gained 280 metres to the Boks 183

Oz had  had 56% of territory and 57% of the possession.

Oz made 94% of their tackles to the Boks 85%.

Oz had 6 clean breaks….the Boks had 0.

Oz beat 21 defenders…..we beat 5.

Oz offloaded 7 to our 2.

Only the penalty count 17 to 11 kept us in the game.

………

Now a few player gems.

Vermeulen with 45 metres and Pollard with a lowly 22 we’re the only Boks north 0f 20 metres gained.

Mapimpi missed 2 of his 4 tackles….Nkosi missed 5 of his 9 tackles and  Lomp missed 5 tackles for the Bok high missed tackle count. Kerevi splattered Lomp pretty much like Vunipola did at the WC.

Mostert with 13 tackles and 1 missed was again our premier tackler.

………

Another horrible game by Harrassmus’ Boks…..aimless kicking….and our running/passing game has now atrophied so much from non use our backs can hardly pass the ball.

The contrast with Oz or the Bools yesterday for that matter is stark. The Chicken Run and horrible coaching has really diminished our ability to entertain.

When you look at the quality of many of the tackles that were deemed completed and successful, it becomes all the worse. Our defence during phase play has been awful throughout the season. Being outproduced on attack is now our defining feature. Our top try scorer in the competition is Marx, and they have all been from repeated mauls gifted by a stream of penalties.

Boks were not good but they were still better than Oz 3 tries to 1 and far too many easy kicks missed Oz never won, the Boks threw that away Shocking that we were not awarded a penalty with that second last scrum on time

No they were not better than Oz… we forced some penalties and scored some maul tries. Beyond that we were toothless as the numbers clearly show,

Let's not forget the Kolisi red that never was. Lifts the player, turns him and then drives him backwards onto himself. So many one sided ref calls that this wasn't merely a deserved win by Australia, but a win for rugby. Just wait till the residents duds turn their attention to Krutch to defend Josè Erasmus. The Boks are playing awful rugby. With fairer reffing we'd have been down to 14 and the Wallabies would have had scrum dominance.
