We have an assortment of orc idiots on site - but this article from News24 indicates that there are similar idiots aplenty around:-

Former Stormers wing Breyton Paulse is concerned that off-field rumblings are having an adverse effect on the team.

"The former Springbok was commenting on Afrikaans rugby programme SuperRugby on Monday night when he shared his concerns discussing the Stormers' 40-3 loss to the Bulls in their Super Rugby opener in Pretoria at the weekend.

Paulse said head coach Robbie Fleck should be feeling the heat.

"Obviously there's pressure on Fleck. After a performance like this there will naturally be pressure on any coach. And it's a build-up of a few off-field issues... there are many reports of off-field rumblings and these types of things aren't good for a team's morale, especially not if you have to prepare for Super Rugby," Paulse said.

The Stormers are yet to confirm their coaching staff for this year's Super Rugby competition, with assistant coach Paul Treu's role in particular unclear. He was the subject of much controversy towards the end of 2018 when he accused the Stormers coaching staff, led by head coach Fleck, of discrimination.

An independent review cleared Fleck and the management team of any wrongdoing, but it seems now that the relationship between Treu and his colleagues has soured.

There have also been reports that the WP Rugby Union's amateur arm was eager to replace director of rugby Gert Smal with Treu and wanted Peter de Villiers, a former Springbok coach currently in charge of Zimbabwe, to become the head coach of the Stormers.

It was subsequently reported that these appointments appear unlikely but Paulse added: "The coaching team has not even officially been unveiled yet. There are so many things that bring negativity around the team. The players just want to play rugby but there are so many things happening that you can see it filters through to the players and that's very dangerous."

The former Springbok wing, however, acknowledged that plaudits should also be given to the Bulls.

"The Stormers were very poor but you have to give the Bulls credit for the manner in which they approached this game. Everything was clinical... guys like Handre Pollard started to dominate the game. And the forwards made life very difficult for the Stormers in the lineouts and scrums."

The Stormers host the Lions at Newlands this Saturday (kick-off 17:15)"

Shocking  situation for what used to be the Premier Rugby Union in SA to be in.   It is clear that the destroyers of the game in the Stormers franchise is hard at work to destroy the franchise and copy the "Cheeky Watson" destruction  of the Kings to the "t".

I think it is time to take legal action to ensure that the professional franchise  be privatized and that SARU should act to save Professional Rugby in the Province.

Even if it is privatised, the government laws will make it a state communist entity where merit choices of management cant be made. It will be cronies of cronies getting reserved jobs.

Stormers had a bad day at the office....but they may very well upset the weary Lions this weekend. Especially given allthe criticism. Man for man they are the better team.

The Stormers are far better than that - that was a poor day at the office. Unfortunately Fleck is proving a bit of a flop, it’s time they found a real coach. They have a good squad. They could do with a proper fullback and a quality 9. Their best two wings in Petersen and Senatla are little guys, they could do with one physical wing.

I think they should put Marais back at fullback, and return Lleyds to the wing.

Klop. Too many SA wings are athletes rather than rugby players.

SP is slow. Jake White dropped him for basic lack of pace.

SP was solid at 15 last year. He is a bit slow, but Lleyds and he functioned well in the back 3. I'll take him over Gellant any day...and I like Warwick, bet he's even slower.

The Stormers haven't reigned supreme in SA rugby for many a year ... and have in fact regressedfurther under Fleck ... so I'm not sure what that's all about.

Every team goes through a bad spell at one time or another. Let's face it, the Stormers have been under the cosh these last few years ... bankruptcy ... their historical stadium gone ... a fool of a coach (Fleck) which for some reason the persist with ... and now this.

A bad day at the office is to be thumped by 15 points ... not by 37. That's a disaster .. a total collapse of all their rugby structures.

The Stormers crew are a very unhappy bunch ... and this could be a very long season for them.

Who knows ... we may even see players leaving in mass.

It would be wonderful to see them thrashed by another 40 pts this weekend.

Go Lionssssssssss!!!

People still seem to be hanging on to the hopes that Willemse is the real deal ... but from what I've seen of him so far, he's nothing special at all. He's had many opportunities to prove himself ... but sadly to no avail.

Dare I say it ... quota.

SP Marais is a solid 15 and should have been left there.

The Stormers have made a lot of really bad decisions the last few years and are now seeing the result of their stupidity.

The Lions will be happy to receive Augustus, Pietr-Steff, Wiese and Wilco Louw into our fold.

It wouldn't surprise me to see the Stormers competing with the Sun Wolves for the wooden spoon this year.

Goooooo Sun Wolvesssssssss!!

The Stormers are paying the price for leading the charge in playing midgets and for promoting Transformation. It's also blatantly obvious that they could do with a half decent coach.

Denny

For the record is Treu or Pieter de Villiers half-decent coaches?

Dobson should have been couch last year already.... and I'd take Deon Davids over Fleck in a heartbeat. If WP does not fix our problems pronto, there will be nothing left to fix. It's going down in flames fast. WP should privatise and go full on commercial. Screw politics.

De Villiers is an embarrassment to the human race in my not so humble opinion and a typical example of a racist policy. Need I say anymore?

Treu as you know comes from a different background and I daresay suffers a pretty ordinary rugby background, as a matter of fact he is another trading on his colour. Would I pick him in charge of a 15's team? .....no.

I think the Stormers are poorly coached, and the political bullshit at the union has everyone demotivated. That said, they have the players to beat any team in Super Rugby, so I won't be surprised if they give the Lions a very hard game this weekend. A wounded animal can be very dangerous.

That is if the players can overcome the aversion they feel for the WP management.   They cannot be motivated if the management has gone bananas.

Fleck is a very nice guy - but a serial flop as a coach.   I agree  Davids will be a massive improvement. on Fleck, but I think a foreign coach will be an improvement on all SA can offer.

SP over Gelant now that is the joke of the season thus far. Gelant is class. This notion that he is slow is laughable

Willemse moves to fullback....hope this works better than the Pretoria test. Jantjies should have some space to exploit.
