It starts in the coaching box....the body language up there would take any team to defeat....and you have to believe it's showing up at half time.
Then our front row concedes so many penalties game after game. Kitshoff and Malherbe are being taken to the cleaners week after week. And Deon is a lucky packet of good things, bad lineout throws and penalties.
As for the loosies, Kolisi is invisible out there....is he even trying? Vermeulen looks worn out and Carr is adding some value, but making plenty of mistakes.
The main problem though is a half back. Grant is truly a shadow of his former self and he never was that great. At least for a while he could kick....no more. And his pop gun boot clearing the lines is pathetic.
Groom had a terrible game, being stripped on the Cheetahs line and feeding the Cheetahs backs with nice short up and unders. Schreuder then made his usual Captain Calamity contribution......you couldn't win the CC with these half backs, let alone the S15.
For the rest De Allende is doing well on the wing, Taute is better but still bog ordinary and Hendriks showed our new man what pace is.
Why were we giving the ball back to the Cheetahs when Willie was in his most magical mood, heaven only knows. The tactics are all wrong at the moment. So much so that even the return of Etzebeth and Schalk is unlikely to turn this ship. They are also desperately missing Aplon.
But perhaps the most simple thing is.....you can't kick short up and unders and then have no kick chase....it was painful to watch.
