There is a weird thing about the Cheetahs, This afternoon their -
* "B"-team played the Sharks and lost by a margin of only 4 points: and
* "A" team is playing in Ireland and one would hope they put in a credible performance.
Weird - but the Sharks should have beaten the Cheetahs by a mile and they d id not.
It's a waste of time trying to assess the happenings of the Ti n Cup. In fact, I think we should be honest and just rename the completion "Rugby B.C." or "Cretaceous Cup".

...it appears on the face of it that SA teams are just making up the numbers in Pro14 ...such a pity so many players have been poached from these teams -SA shooting itself in the foot again.....
Pro 14 will be looking at expanding elsewhere unless SA can stop the rot...
...that said few teams would be capable of beating this Munster team at home... and one can only hope the Cheetahs at home this season could be a banana skin for a couple of these European sides...
The only positive news from this region is that Grey College, by hook or by crook still manages to produce rugby players that with the correct coaching, may end up in the Springbok squad.

This SA team was very far from achieving that.
One point or two, an exclusive quota player made team could have scored the same or even more. They might have suffered more points scored against them.
All in all, no change.
In SA, a number of people keep thinking they are still priviledged enough to keep losing.
The fight for the priviledge of losing. SA rugby is loser rugby and peculiar people in SA think they are entitled to the spot.

Not sure what SA is expecting out of these teams but should this come as such as surprise given how these teams have been undermined by clubs and SA coaches..
So how can SA not expect mediocrity from their teams given how they're exhibiting such self defeating behaviours..i'e poaching key players
SA has established a foothold in Europe so why should it matter anyway how kak these teams are. What is wrong with settling for mediocrity.
unless there is a concern about what negative impression the Northern Hemisphere will be developing of SA players.....not to mention the negative sterotype SA players will propagate if this losing streak continues and SA teams keep getting whipped week in and week out. Compounding the problem and not helping the aspirations of SA player hoping to ply their trade in Europe in the future is SA's continuing slide down the world rankings.
Potentially Europe could be a huge market for SA ...but will SA players be overlooked for Pacific Islanders , Kiwis and Aussies instead due to a developing stereotype of SA players now being the easy beats....
On the positive side Arno Botha will be on Rassies radar after the Cheetahs game. The Munster NO 8 looked good but is he Springbok material?
