The stupid Bulls

 It was parity in the first half then dominance in the second and the Bulls were too stupid to win the game. While its always good to see teams choose the attacking option at penalty time, you dont do that when its failed a few times before and you are playing a semi final.

So much for Morne being a reliable kicker these days. We had all that ball in the second half and never used our impressive centres. JJ only had to handle it once to score a great try.

But the joke of the day was Ludeke reliance on two crap props who got their arses kicked. As soon as they were replaced by Mellett and Kirsten, the Bulls scrum dominated.

This is nothing new - when Greyling and Kruger were injured earlier in the season, Mellett and Kirsten proved far better options at prop. It just shows what blind faith coaches have in certain players - so we had Greyling and Kruger return just because they were fit. The coach does not know his arse from his elbow.

It reminds me of Meyer and his faith in Kirchner, Morne and Spies

I said this after the cheetahs game. You take points whenever given the oppurtunity in close games. Especially in the playoffs. I don't know why a team like the Bulls wouldn't. Why, all of a sudden, does the mentality change?

It's a one off playoff game. Who cares how you win, just win!

Not quite, Dave, I'm sorry to say that the joke of the day was Francois Hougaard. Slow, cumbersome service, poor decision-making, pathetic box-kicks . . . and when last did this guy make a decent break?

I'm not saying Greyling and Kruger weren't poor but the replacement of Hougaard at scrumhalf by Jano Vermaak had a bigger positive impact on the game for the Bulls than the prop subs. I know you well enough to know that you're not going to accept any criticism of Francois Hougaard but I'll just remind you that I also rate the guy as a great talent . . . just not this season. This season he's been rubbish, never more so than yesterday.

Three players I've never really rated had excellent games for the Bulls yesterday . . . Zane Kirchner, Akona Ndungane and Jacques Potgieter. They were the Bulls stars on the day, along with Grant Hattingh.

Rooi I have to disagree, I thought Hougaard's service was fantastic in fact its the best I have seen from any SA 9 this year. I saw one crap box kick and that poor missed tackle of his, but what was really sad to see was him not going for the line in one of the Bulls build up's.......there was a bit of a gap for him and he chose to pass it.

The lad is hell bent on trying to get the basics right that he is ignoring the rest of his game and his strengths, which is ball in hand.

Vermaak's service is average and it put pressure on Morne who got charged down. Go check Hougaards service from both hands, its crisp and pin point. His service is spot on, its the rest of his game that has gone amiss.

Agreed J.Potgieter had a great game and Kirchner was ok. Cant say I noticed Ndungane

i dont think hougaards service was horrible, but it wasnt great, and IMO reinach has one of the best services in SA rugby, but they are nothing to aaron smiths red bull powered passes.

mornes goal kicking was off last night, but everyones entitled to a bad kicking day, its just unfortunate that his first one for the year came at the worst possible time.

there was a number of opportunities that hougaard kind of let slide, and i would have loved for him to have taken some of those chances, but the desire to be a Bok incumbent has seen his and lambies game this year deteriorate big time IMO, at least compared to how they were playing with their natural game in the sp XV last year.

As usual, your talking nonsense. Hougat has been useless the entire season. Vermaak should have started at 9 and Hougat should have been dropped altogether.

He cost the Bulls the match ... pity Vermaak didn't come on a little earlier to rescue the day ... again!!!

I hosed myself after the final whistle went ...  The arrogant, puffed up Bulls supporters left the stadium in there droves with sulky faces.  Typical.

Didn't even have the decency to wait for the post match interviews or forward their hearty congrats to the better team. .

 Hougaard was average. morne missed two shots early on but was rock steady thereafter and jake call him the best kicker etyc.

But no doubt about it the bulle shot themselves in the foot.

I am more woorried about the Stormers than the bulle right now. The departures are from WP are alarming.
