Robert Du Preez  (ex Blue Bulls,Shark and Springbok) was attacked by thugs in George after final last weekend.

What the hell is going on...these arseholes were troubling him...he just wanted a quiet drink...he told them to piss off and they attacked him...this type of behaviour belongs to skinheads of English soccer games.

Never happened in my day...no respect ...gone out the window...guys were real men...if you had differences you went outside one on one and your own size and age.

In the army and school this was never tolerated...toughness yes but with fair play.

What a bunch of low life gutless cowards.

Honestly Seb, It speaks volumes about the intelligence of the average South African supporter. Hell how smart do you have to be to hit someone in the face just because you disagree with him about something. but ag what the hell just my point of view.

I agree with Seb about the one on one bit....but going outside? Not always. I was in a pub in Plet one June break, when an almighty fight broke out between some local lads and a group of us interlopers. It ended when a chappie who was in the Navy Gym with me and a martial arts experts broke two of the initiator's fingers. After that we had a few beers together.

Fark me!  What's the matter with these shrivelled boks?  Why are they so quick to settle disputes with their fists?  Are these pathetic goons trying to compensate for their franchise (and Bok) failures by spitting the proverbial dummy and senselessly beating random (ie dead Englishman at Sharks match?) rugby supporters at or after rugby matches. Even reading this forum over the years I have noticed a darker, more sinister element creeping in to the posts of some members.  It's as if the national psyche has been irreparably disturbed as a result of years of disappointment and underachieving.   I'm not suggesting that we don't have our own problems with brainless meatheads at rugby stadia but we hardly compare with the violent "supporter" based violence in the Republic.  It's no surprise really that the only rugby match where I felt uncomfortable and tense, thanks to the tinderbox like atmosphere where pent up frustrations were on the verge of boiling over, was the World Cup game on the north shore between SA and Samoa. Given all the the staunch parochial support  in SA for their various franchises, I imagine the atmosphere is like that WC game times 10.  Come on boetjies, chillax and enjoy the games regardless of who wins.

Nuke, how is this different from beating up a drunk kiwi cricket player in a McDonalds parking lot? Rhyder was almost put to pastures.

DbD don't get hooked by Nukie, he just posts things like this to get a rise out of folks. He knows all too well that there is just as much chance of getting boxed by some thug in New Zealand, as there is in SA or Aus! Rhyder is a supreme example.

Lolz.   Rider is your only example.  This somehow proves that NZ and SA have a comparable violence issue. Fark me.  You chops are " supremely" deluded.  Anyways, how's life in your secure compound, razor wire fences and armed security at the entrance to your gated community?  Hows Oscar Pistorious these days?  Isn't his brother in law also facing a murder charge?

Nuke, where have you been man? Although you talk crap most of the time (See Above), you still spice things up here. I have the worst memory in history, the only reason I remembered Rhyder was Db's post. So me not being able to regurgitate more examples of your boys doing things they shouldn't, in no way strengthens your argument!
