I wonder if there is a way to get hold of the stats regarding the number of registered rugby players in South Africa. If one had access to that number I think the whole transformation thing would be even more shocking. I went to watch some local club rugby over the weekend. In other words, non professional. There were 3 games played on the day. That is 138 players all together. Of those, about 15 were black or coloured. If those numbers are anything to go by, it is absolutely disgusting that a match day 23 selected from those 138 players should include 12 players of colour. Well that is exactly what is happening to the Springboks and the Super Rugby franchises.

The rugby world should take note of this. It is patently racist and the IRB should ban SA from competing in any international rugby.

...blue, if these are arguably the top rugby schools in SA that might be a better indicator of how the sport is evolving... so how many are playing at schoolboy level pecentagewise...and then you probably also have to factor in the gate keepers that are controlling access to the next level that are restricting the numbers...

A very sad state of affairs. I don't know for sure what the actual figures are, and Brycy you make some good points, but the fact remains. There is little interest in rugby from the black population of South Africa. Which is probably justified given our history. But the point is, probably around one out of every ten rugby players is black or coloured. Given those numbers it is criminal to expect them to make up 50% of the professional teams.
It is the exact opposite of what Mandela and people like Martin Luther KIng Jnr fought for. What our administrators want is for us to choose our teams based on colour and not merit.

It is what it is ... and there will be no changing it.

The black man has a very large chip on his shoulder and no matter how well it may go with him, he will always be reluctant to set that chip down, as it represents undeserved favour from every quarter.

They are natural welfare cases ... a bottomless pit ... a sea of outstretched, cupped hands ... uninvited ... and this will never change.

Many of my mates and I will give up our beloved sport. There is no way that we'll support a racist institution like SARU. There is no way that we'll contribute to their coffers. There is no way that we'll enrich them ... when their every motive is aimed against us as white men.

There will however be the likes of Redneck, dressed in the latest Bok merchandise, singing the "Die Stem"less national anthem and cheering his quota team on, fervently .

To think that Rassie's has agreed to being used as the Judas Goat really gets under my skin.

Traitorous bastard.

I hope his entire quest to appease his masters at our expense comes crashing down around him.

It is damn sure that if the Springboks lose the test series in June there will be hell to pay and the quotas will be the reason for the loss,   Rassie will be in serious trouble as the outcry will start to bite even further than it already does,

Rassie is playing a dubious game - he suddenly said at the end of the season it would be 45% - but what does that mean since he implied that it does not apply to individual tests.    Could it be that there would be some merit selections and in individual tests there will be a number of quota selections - with those quotas changing fro tests to test - bringing about an artificial number at the end of the season?

If he say have 4 starters and 5 bench players from the quota lot and change the benched 4 of the 5 every test he would comply with the 45%  lot and even exceed it.

So who could the starters be?   I think it would still be unsatisfactory - since I struggle to find 4 starters that will meet the requirement,  Maybe  Tambwe,/Mapimpi, Gelant, Willemse and Beast could lay claims for selection on merit - making up the total  starters.

However, we will have to see what Erasmus comes up with.  However, whatever he comes up with will still be a racial selection basis with no regard to merit - in other words an abortion without regard to international policies against racism in sport.

Brycy

Virtually all the schools you mentioned  basically caters for Afrikaans speaking pupils - I in the main for White pupils,   In recent years these schools have strong rugby sponsorships and for that purpose they sponsor players of other races to be admitted to those schools and make special selection of pupils from all over SA to benefit from attendance.

It is from those sponsorship cases that virtually all international selections come in later years - the same applies to both rugby and cricket,

However, the sponsorships make up a small percentage of the total number of pupils in the schools and is therefore still a racial distortion.

Much has been written about Willemse at flyhalf recently.   He was until last year a pupil at the Paul Roos school and is being sponsored by Rupert, one of the wealthiest people in Africa,.   He is more or less a typical example of what is going on.

Been reading that stuff since registration. Must be two years ago. Long time to put into application a simple decision.

SA rugby must be terminated. It will be terminated by or against the will of SA people. Better sooner than later.

There is no way that we'll contribute to their coffers. There is no way that we'll enrich them ... when their every motive is aimed against us as white men.

Contributing to their coffers is beyond the means. They have contributed to SA white people's coffers by the environment they were stolen. The depletion of resources is near in SA. Kolmanskop incoming and there is no rugby team in Kolmanskop.

This guy must deal with the fact that the quota policy is a hoax. There is no quota policy. And with numbers like 50% flying around, it is hard to cover the hoax. Counting is not required.

It remains that the quota tale must endure to put the SA rugby termination. With a white squad stuff, rugby would already be terminated in SA.

Now, this guy's position is not sitting behind a desk and claiming there is a quota policy in action, which is easy. This guy sits in public lights and claiming there is a quota policy will not be that easy.

Way better to take the path of the tried and failed to implement the policy.

Man must have his own dignity.

There is not but.

The quota policy tale serves as a cover to SA rugby situation. It is a diversion. SA rugby is one rugby that has failed to train one decent quota player over the past 25 years. Not a single one.

That story of interest was debunked a long time ago. It is people's opinion on this board that these kind of people are attracted to football. Football is big in the NH, especially in Europe. Despite this, NH rugby has managed to bring decent non white players. And in many positions. Even Italy managed that trick.

SA have not equivalent. Not one single quota players trained in SA reaches the standard of quality found in NH non white players.

That is the situation of SA rugby. No other.

That quota policy tale (there is no quota policy in action) exists to hide that situation. And SA rugby is a sink, it brings no money to SA, it is just a leak. There is no way SA rugby finds the resources to remedy to this situation.
