The way NZ players behave

There has been some classical cases this year of outright devious and unethical  play by NZ players and the list seems to be continuing.  Let us not forget the classic of Retallkick claiming interference to prevent a Bulls try and some really other cases.

Aaron Smith did the same type of classic to milk a penalty for the  Highlanders on Saturday.   He got the ball from a mall and instead of passing to his backline - he hit the back of the head of a Sharks player sitting outside the maul and not interfering in the game at all.   Nigel Owens would have warned Smith about getting a yellow card for that type of thing - but Smith succeeded in milking a penalty. 

Not that it helped the poor Highlanders - they were still disgraced by the Sharks.

However, Du Preez was right in saying the game on Saturday was the best game played by the Sharks for years.  The last time the Sharks played the Highlanders in a round robin game in Durban - the Sharks was beaten 30-15.   That was in 2014 and the outcome was when White was the coach - and when dear Fat Fransie destroyed the Sharks game.

The only instances in recent memory that i can recall where a 9 has intentionally passed a ball into a retreating player that was not interfering with play at all, was on both occasions a kiwi player.

We all played sport. We all know what sporting conduct is, and what it is not.

BTW...Have you any new feedback on Bruce Lee? As i recall it was you who said i was dreaming it up and his jump was natural.

Dunno if you saw it but apparently in a recent game the kiwi commentators talked about how he used that flying kick to his advantage. Note...a KICK...studs up and aimed at the face of the oncoming player. Another thing that only kiwi players...but mainly Ben Smith and his teammates do.

Its the equivalent of trying to punch a tackler...only exponentially more dangerous for obvious reasons.

Most of my posts are aimed at getting a response from my NZ friends on site and so is this one.

Just as an aside - when a similar incident happened in a test refereed by Nigel Owens - he penalized the passer of the ball and told the offending passer a repeat will lead to a yellow card.   All of that to prevent the abuse of the rules to benefit the team the passer played for.  

Plum just from memory I recall Will Genia doing the same ,every 9 worth his salt has done it at some stage if only to keep "lazy runners" motivated .

Notice how on here we arent seeing endless drivel about what your team supposedly has done ?

Because winners are fucking grinners " as the locals here would say.

Wardad, there do seem to be some negative sentiment towards NZ teams/players of late. Strange, we all normally get along famously...bar the obvious exceptions. Old Mike seems to be trying to stir you lot lately, but it's so obvious and forced, you can't take it seriously?

Just nice to know I spotted it, brought it to your attention in the hopes you'd give an honest opinion, gave you the opportunity to do so, discussed at length how it was unnatural to jump that way...and you said it was hogwash and I was whinging.

Not sure if I've told this story on here before.

I was on the set of survivor SA for the last ten days of the shoot and actually met both Krige and Fish.

The last week or so both captains were not living with their respective tribes anymore and only met them for voting. 

Thus Krige and Fish was on the same Island as the production and film crew. Since they were still part of the show they weren't allowed any info from the outside world as it may influence their votes. No TV or internet etc.

While having dinner in the resort restaurant one night one of the production guys notices Krige watching rugby...i knew he was watching the Currie Cup final.

My partner/shag, who everyone including the director answered to, swiftly ordered the gayest member of the production team to go over and tell him to stop watching the rugby. I still think she picked that specific guy just to see what would happen.

Bit of back story. Both Fish and Krige were for some reason bargaining for more money and there had been some heated discussions occurring. Don't really know what it was about but I know there wasn't much love lost between the respective parties at that point.

Anyway the guy goes over and I can see he is telling Krige to turn off the TV. He didn't even turn his head. Just sat there, plate on his lap, for about ten more seconds then calmly got up, still without acknowledging the guy and walked off very very slowly.

It was like he was trying to do things as slowly as possibly because the slightest but of haste might send him into a frenzy.

He did look over at our table for a moment. Gangster level daggers came from those eyes man.
