I have just gone onto the Stomers website and looked at the weights.

The best Stormers pack is as follows:

Kitshoff 120, Liebenberg 110, Malherbe 122

Etzebeth 118 (I think this is wrong as he was 120 kg last year and growing) Bekker 120

Burger 114, Vermuelen 116 and Elstadt 114 (He was118 last season but apparently debulked to gain speed)

Total 934kg. (The 2 kg re Etzebeth and 4 kg re Elstadt make the differnce re my 940 kg power pack)

However we have instead fielded against the crusties for example. Cillliers 113kg, Steenkamp 113kg and

Kolis 102 kg. Meaning a lot less firepower.

But it doesnt stop there. On comes Carr and off goes Elstadt. Carr - a poor player and only 102 kg. Instead Coetzee could have played the very effective Don Armand110 kg - he now also has the choice of Rhodes at 110 kg. Will he drop Carr.

Then in the backs Allende keeps getting dropped to the bench!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Allende 100 kg and a serious Bok candidate if Meyer would open his eyes. Howard at 100 kg doesnt even get a game off the bench. Van der heever at 98 kg only gets a chance when Habana is injured!!!!!!!!!!!!  Small guys like Aplon can be dangerous when play gets broken and spaces appear as legs get tired. Play him off the bench in the last 30 minutes.

I did not see Du Plessis name but think he is 96 kg. Man this guy looked like he had something. Hope he gets over his injury quickly. He skinned JJ beautifully that one game!!

Seldom have I seen such a combination of injuries and stupid selection policies ruining a sides chances.

One can only wonder now how a backline of Groom, Grant, Jean, Allende, Habana, Van der Heever and a settled Taute would have been like behind the power pack!

What a disapointment it has been thus far. So far from what might have been.

Beenkop, catch a wake up, you dont just pick the 8 biggest players as a forwards pack - how naive is that.

Kolisi is a class act and a must at 6 for the Stormers. Etzebeth weighs 123kg, probably more by now given his love of the gym and the free time he has had on his hands given his injury

Beeno

Your coach is a fool and he will always stick with Janjties and De Jongh - at best both are average and in certain aspects of the game poor.   We will never hear the end of it about De Jongh after his two tries on Saturday - Mozart is crowing like it is unbelievable - but he was a disater in defence and missed four tackles apart from those he hid away from and did not attempt to make.

Coetzee will never change those two - so the disasters are going to heep up.   There is no chance that the Stormers will beat the Sharks this weekend and I am pretty certain the log slide will continue.  I hope the Stormers get a bonus point - but that is highly unlikely.

Beeno my mate...you have the same mindset that I was talking about...Saffa coaches...you have a long and painfull lesson to learn my friend about this intriging and wonderful game of rugby...as a Stormers supporter you will soon learn the hard way. Injuries will never be an excuse only an explanation.

I still the Stormers have a liability and it's nothing to do with the players...it's the mindset and with no disrespect for Uncle Alistair...he has to change or drop out.

that old beeno does not understand is that one has to carry all that dead weight around on a rugby pitch....if the body can handle the fitness smaller more agile players that play more up tempo will run around those bigger players.

size means nothing if you dont have skills to back it up....

the game is not played on weight scale but on a patch of grass

What a lot of baloney going on here. Name me one player who is unworthy in my power pack or preferred backline. Come on lets have it.

I give you again the complete team:

Kitshof, Tiaan, Malherbe, Etzebeth, Bekker (Mobile powerful tight five)

Burger (on form or Fourie), Vermuelen and Elstadt.

Groom, Grant, Jean, Allende, Van der Heever, Habana and Taute.

Explain why this would not be an OUTSTANDING team. Name me a better side in the Super 15 comp and their playing compliment. My team would beat any side. No doubt about it.

muncher please dont bleat on about size alone all the time. I am takling size and real class a winning combo. Of course a lump of lard is not the answer. Who is this dead weight you are dreaming about?

Dear Old Beeno I believe you are fighting a lost cause here mate...I would love to be proven wrong mate but you are like most WP/Stormers supporters who are going ape because the Hex River mountains never allows rugby supporters who live in a cocoon to think beyond that. I know this because I lived 15 years in your territory and spent some years as a junior at the school just above Newlands in Dean Street.

WP supporters are the most one-eyed and stupid when it comes to rugby ...but they make it up with their wine and women...lol.

Yes Hasbeeno, your team would beat any in the competition all right!

I've lost count how many S15 titles the Mild Zephyrs have won to date. Perhaps you can research this and get back to me Hasbeeno??

hahahahahahahaha Carpetmuncher, "game played on grass and not weight scales", too funny but true - unless of course the Stormers want to take up boxing ;)

Hakwa if its not an unfortuante picture its aan even mor unfortuante comment.

Hakwa I am trying to get some sense out of some resident boneheads who are totall yconfused once againy leading edge commentary. If you pause for a moment you will see that NONE have taken up the challenge of criting my 1st team Mighty Stormers side. They also cant find another team that on paper and on grass would be better.

I would say it is very clearly  game set and match to Beeno yet again.

ou mucher thinks he has struck gold by announcing rubgy is a game played on grass - he sees himself as a revolutionary rugby brain does ou muncher.

Do you now see what I am up against Hahahahahakwa!

Beeno

There is one thing you can forget about right now.  I look at what you think should be a good backline and have to agree with you - but Coetzee will NEVER ever pick that backline.   He is absolutely "married" to Jantjies and De Jongh.   He will never admit the deficiencies of those two and that is the end of your dream backline.

Mike what worries me every much is that we have had two top coaches walk out of the WP setup. Something is rotten there. Good men walk.

I do note howere the is NO quesioning of my side. where oh where are these deadweight players. Ou mucher has been silenced!!

Moola confuses the past with the presnt and also the future. Wise up -mooo la
