The wonderful SA coaches who coached foreign teams

Lets look at the SA coaches coaching overseas teams and see how their teams are performing:-

Heyneke Meyer

Meyer went off to Malaysia when SAR refused to renew his contract and was involved with the starting up of the Asia Pacific Dragons - who will start competing in rugby in 2019.

He then went off to Stade Francais where the new German owner made Euro 25 million available to contract new players,   Thus far he brought in Nicolas Sanchez and virtually no other player worth their salt. 

The present situation is as follows:-

European Challenge Cup (Pool2)    -   after 4 games  -  1 win/3 losses    -  bottom of the log  -   6 points

French Top 14                              -  after 11 games -  5 wins/5  losses -   8 out of 14 teams - 28 points    

Meyer better start looking better in future - club owners do not want to be subject to failure to get value for money and it is not produced in the case of  Stade Francais.

Jake White   

After leaving the Brumbies and then the Sharks under rather dubious circumstances White went to coach Montpelliier - where his contact was not renewed and he then went off to coach the Toyota Verblitz team in Japan.

He was relatively successful  in 2017/8  with his team ending up fourth on the log in the 16 team Japanese League.   For his sake we can only hope he does not slip down on the ladder.

Alister Coetzee

After years of total failure as the coach of the Stormers/WP Coetzee was appointed as Springbo coach and the team was a disaster in both 2016 and 2017.   His contract was terminated prematurely in 2018 and he went off to coach the Cannon Eagles in Japan.

I hope that the team improves from the log position 8 in 2017/8 - if that does not happen his sojourn in Japan may be even shorter than he expects.    

Frans Ludeke

In 2015 the Bulls decided on cleaning up the house after two disastrous seasons.   Ludeke departed and became coach of the Kubota Spears.   In 2017/8 the team ended up 11th out of the 16 teams participating in the series.

This guy is bad news when it comes to coaching and he better show improvement  or ended up with a job loss.

Johan Ackerman

This guy over a period of years with the Lions showed that he is a top class coach.  He has taken Gloucester forward in performances and at present the log positions of the team are as follows;- 

European Champions Cup (Pool 2)    -   after 8 games  -  2 wins/2 losses    -  bottom of the log  -   8 points

Premier League                               -  after  9 games -   5 wins/3  losses -    3 out of 12 teams - 28 poinst

Ackerman is doing very well - I hope he returns to SA  in 2019 when a new Chief Coach will be appointed when Erasmus became the full time Director of Rugby.

It must be mentioned that the Pool 2 log is seriously complicated - the log points are 12,9,8,8 so the remaining two matches will indicate the way the pool would go.  

Mozart

I m amazed at you = neither you nor that deadhead Ceradunce have commented on three of your favourite coaches from SA and then also the one you constantly denigrated.   The absence of you, Ceradunce and the other deadhead AO speak vol umes in this case.    

Must find something totally unrelated to what was actually discussed, namely in recent years leading up to the appointment of the coaches ending up at he Clubs they are now coaching and their achievements at their clubs.   

Ostriches are mot wise with their head in a hole behavior - with humans it is really the upper limit  of  idiocy.   Let me ask a simple question - if they were so brilliant in the past how did they end up coaching clubs in the NH and  not coaching in SA anymore?   Why are they not coaching at higher level for the countries they are coaching.

The simple fact is most of them are not covering themselves in glory in their present jobs   So to cover that the standard BS is to run back to what happened near to a decade or longer ago.  No logic anymore  so we have to find diversions from fact to cover up the present situation.  Total BS reigns supreme.       .      .    .

Thanks Ceradunce - I corrected the win/loss figure to 6/5 in Top 14 - but that really was not an issue really.   The overall situation is what really counts,
