The worst posters of 2016?
Hmmmmm . . . let's see . . .
Moffie was no less pompous, overbearing and supercilious this year than in any other year so he doesn't deserve the award. Nothing special in 2016 from the self-important 70-something-year-old fossil with the emotional maturity of a 7 year old.
I'm sure Klown would be many people's choice but he does entertain when he gets people wound up . . . as does a Kamp SS mole like Traditionalist.
I don't believe the Dim Sum/GonzoTheGimp/Desert Fool/Alutwat complex deserves the award either. What did he do special in 2016? He signed on here as . . . what . . . only 3 or 4 new characters . . . tops? That's really tame by his standards.
Ou Maaik was in his usual legendary form and for all his blinkered (and surely feigned) stubborness, he still provided a lot of laughs as various posters tried to reason with him. Always good for a laugh seeing Ceradunce and Moffie sailing into orbit on a daily basis. Ou Maaik makes up for any of his shortcomings with his enthusiasm for Fantasy Sports and prediction games. He and ABasque are the only people I know who take things like Superbru and Fantasy Rugby as seriously as I do!
Dense is always a very strong candidate for worst poster in any year . . . in fact it's hard to imagine how the reigning Alpha-Gimp could possibly lose such an award. Unlike some of the other candidates on this list who had ordinary years by their standards, Dense does continue to plumb new depths of artlessness, sucking up and generally being an ill-bred buffoon. I see more and more posters are starting to realise that Dense is a miserable, whiny and embarrassing cork in the arsehole of this board's progress and he would be a worthy winner.
For all that, I'm not giving Dense a well deserved worst-poster award this year.
I'm tempted to make a surprise nomination of bluebok for the award after his disgraceful cowardice on
this thread and because it would reinforce my final nomination . . . and because it's when the good guys behave like . . . well . . . a bit like Dense . . . that you lose faith . . . but . . .
There are also Kamp SS moles like Admit_One, Dumb Ass and Trooth Fairy (assuming they're not the same sad and pathetic loser) who have an agenda that can only be compared to those elements of the government who would like rugby to fail in this country. In the same way as certain politicians are actively trying to bring rugby down to the laughable standard of Bafana Bafana, we have Kamp SS moles on this forum who are so childish, so vindictive and so bitter that they'd rather pollute and destroy this board and drag it down to the same levels as their failed Kamp SS board.
But . . .
The people who really annoyed me in 2016 - and my official nomination for worst poster - are all those posters who put their stupid little cricket/golf/horseracing/yankball observations in the rugby section after the Ed created a perfectly usable section for other sports titled . . . ummmm . . . "Other Sports"! There's also a Tr(*)mpet section below for non-sports discussions although, admittedly, it is frequented by Baboon-ou . . . but still.
Those are my personal worst posters this year and my nominations . . . so that would be most of you. I realise my views on the mechanics of this board are in a minority of one . . . and don't get me started on posters who can't stick between the margins!
But what is a worst posters list without a best poster category?
I don't really have a shortlist for Best P oster of 2016, I just have one very clear winner . . .

Yes it's Baboon-ou!
As much as it pains me to admit it, not even his constant blubbering about refs, his laughably stupid world view or his hilarious rugby ignorance can offset the fact that in 2016 Baboon-ou picked Bozo the Clown to win the Republican nomination against all odds; he then picked Brexit against the odds and then - against the biggest odds of all - tipped Bozo the Clown all the way to the US presidency . . . even if Baboon-ou did disappear for a week or two when the polls were unanimous and Hillary was at 1-6 with the bookies!
Well done Baboon-ou. You also wound up the Kiwis very effectively on the rugby front and gave us a lot of laughs with your unbelievably silly and naive little views on world politics, the meaning of life, climate change and various other subjects.
A worthy winner . . . in my never-humble opinion!
Seasons Greetings all.
