It is coming to the end of a year of rugby disaster for the Springboks - so lets look at what happened on this site.
There are a umber of serious competitors - but the most conspicuous one is Ceradyne - aka windpomp.   Ceradyne has the distinction of virtually never starting a thread and when somebody else started a thread he is onto it in a flash coming up with notoriously ill-informed junk.    He always try to run other members down and never ever made a positive contribution on the site.    So he is like an ass-fly and that is the main format of his contribution.
A serious competitor - I think is Mozart.   He is seriously repetitive and the sum-total of his contributions can be summarized as follows:-
*   Harking back to the past and insisting that the present players cannot be compared to the spooks that lost the Japan test last year;
*   Having a go at some players and repeatedly so.   I am still waiting for a thread of his where Du Toit, Combrinck and Venter is not mentioned;
*   writing about the "traditional Bok Rugby" - without ever coming up with a definition - with a non-existent game plan being the result; and
In a way I admire Mozart for his persistence - even if he rarely brings anything new to the site.   He rarely change his mind.   When I criticized Coetzee's appointment he initially supported the appointment - based on Coetzee's performance as Stormers coach.   However the disastrous performances of the Springboks is blamed on the players - especially those he is prejudiced against - but lately admitted that Coetzee is not the answer.
So Ceradunce t akes the Village Idiocy Crown by some distance this year.

"He always try to run other members down and never ever made a positive contribution on the site."
And there's a reason for that, which is quite easily explained by saying that he would enjoy the fall of this site so that everyone joins his beloved Nazi site.
I've always been aware of the snake in the grass because he's just so transparent.

"And there's a reason for that, which is quite easily explained by saying that he would enjoy the fall of this site so that everyone joins his beloved Nazi site. "

Once again, and for the record, I was a member of this site probably before you even knew that it existed. I have never tried to see the fall of this site, ever. I have always posted both on this site and on Supersupporter. I have, for a short time, when you guys moved here remained silent about my identity and then exposed myself out of my own free choice. I even assisted you in naming some past members of this site when you were trying to "rebuild" it and it was quite an amicable process until you discovered who I was......

What I do find strange is that Moz and myself have found a way to, could I say, bury the hatchet, and remember that we have had some heavy clashes on SS. Not that I really care about your attitude towards me. Not in the least. In fact, I don't give a flying fcuk what your views. Or your bum-chum, ou ComradeMike's, for that matter.

LOL every poster here adds something.  Sometimes we are not as clever as we think.  Sometimes we are just totally daft, in the eyes of the next poster.  But at least there is more passion and enthusiasm here than in the Springbok team.
Some posters here must be posting deliberate diatribe because no one can be that stupid for real.  I am not going to lower myself to sub-forum standards and call names and point fingers, but we are all guilty at some time or another - some just more often and some chronically.. LOL.
Here's a hint o f someonew ho sometimes ish alrious but full ofe nergy..

Obviously we all differ but that's good...far better than to go with the flow...I like to think that most of us have good intent and can take good banter and teasing but to me personal and character assassinations are bad taste and only leaves one with a bitter taste in the mouth.

We all had different backgrounds and experiences...and are very different individuals...it's stimulating to share...I believe most of the verbal conflicts come from misunderstandings...

Thanks Mach and all the very best to all of you as well for the hols.

Ou Maaaikie aren't we forgetting about rooitwitterbug. Who will ever forget his scandalous comments about Trump and all his predictions etc. However, my personal preference goes to dense denise a lout of note. Hard on his heels is warped DUD a foul mouthed ranter of the basest sort. Rooi twit is in comparative terms a veritable saint.

The worst posters of 2016?
Hmmmmm . . . let's see . . .
Moffie was no less pompous, overbearing and supercilious this year than in any other year so he doesn't deserve the award. Nothing special in 2016 from the self-important 70-something-year-old fossil with the emotional maturity of a 7 year old.
I'm sure Klown would be many people's choice but he does entertain when he gets people wound up . . . as does a Kamp SS mole like Traditionalist.
I don't believe the Dim Sum/GonzoTheGimp/Desert Fool/Alutwat complex deserves the award either. What did he do special in 2016? He signed on here as . . . what . . . only 3 or 4 new characters . . . tops? That's really tame by his standards.
Ou Maaik was in his usual legendary form and for all his blinkered (and surely feigned) stubborness, he still provided a lot of laughs as various posters tried to reason with him. Always good for a laugh seeing Ceradunce and Moffie sailing into orbit on a daily basis. Ou Maaik makes up for any of his shortcomings with his enthusiasm for Fantasy Sports and prediction games. He and ABasque are the only people I know who take things like Superbru and Fantasy Rugby as seriously as I do!
Dense is always a very strong candidate for worst poster in any year . . . in fact it's hard to imagine how the reigning Alpha-Gimp could possibly lose such an award. Unlike some of the other candidates on this list who had ordinary years by their standards, Dense does continue to plumb new depths of artlessness, sucking up and generally being an ill-bred buffoon. I see more and more posters are starting to realise that Dense is a miserable, whiny and embarrassing cork in the arsehole of this board's progress and he would be a worthy winner.
For all that, I'm not giving Dense a well deserved worst-poster award this year.

I'm tempted to make a surprise nomination of bluebok for the award after his disgraceful cowardice on this thread and because it would reinforce my final nomination . . . and because it's when the good guys behave like . . . well . . . a bit like Dense . . . that you lose faith . . . but . . .
There are also Kamp SS moles like Admit_One, Dumb Ass and Trooth Fairy (assuming they're not the same sad and pathetic loser) who have an agenda that can only be compared to those elements of the government who would like rugby to fail in this country. In the same way as certain politicians are actively trying to bring rugby down to the laughable standard of Bafana Bafana, we have Kamp SS moles on this forum who are so childish, so vindictive and so bitter that they'd rather pollute and destroy this board and drag it down to the same levels as their failed Kamp SS board.
But . . .
The people who really annoyed me in 2016 - and my official nomination for worst poster - are all those posters who put their stupid little cricket/golf/horseracing/yankball observations in the rugby section after the Ed created a perfectly usable section for other sports titled . . . ummmm . . . "Other Sports"! There's also a Tr(*)mpet section below for non-sports discussions although, admittedly, it is frequented by Baboon-ou . . . but still.
Those are my personal worst posters this year and my nominations . . . so that would be most of you. I realise my views on the mechanics of this board are in a minority of one . . . and don't get me started on posters who can't stick between the margins!
But what is a worst posters list without a best poster category?
I don't really have a shortlist for Best P oster of 2016, I just have one very clear winner . . .

Yes it's Baboon-ou!
As much as it pains me to admit it, not even his constant blubbering about refs, his laughably stupid world view or his hilarious rugby ignorance can offset the fact that in 2016 Baboon-ou picked Bozo the Clown to win the Republican nomination against all odds; he then picked Brexit against the odds and then - against the biggest odds of all - tipped Bozo the Clown all the way to the US presidency . . . even if Baboon-ou did disappear for a week or two when the polls were unanimous and Hillary was at 1-6 with the bookies!
Well done Baboon-ou. You also wound up the Kiwis very effectively on the rugby front and gave us a lot of laughs with your unbelievably silly and naive little views on world politics, the meaning of life, climate change and various other subjects.
A worthy winner . . . in my never-humble opinion!

Mr Ceradyne ,this 'Nazi grammar " is it taught to skinheads and other critters ? It would explain their incomprehensible rantings !Beandipsh!t is by far the worst poster seen outside a breitbart circle jerk .Barely rates as a humanoid and probably more like semi sentient  animated spam .And given how well the ABs have been doing the last few years he has no ammo to throw our way and his rantings people like myself just scroll past anyway . Borriiiiiing.

Look Sucker, after your dummy-spit you made it clear you were leaving, what's changed? You're a keyboard warrior, something some of us has always known, a Wimp who left  his supporters in dismay when he flounced off the board after repeatedly saying he would.
But that aside, tell me how's it going with your rehabilitation?
I mean, are you drug free now?
On top of that you have long standing mental issues.....how's that being addressed?
It's just questions.

Actually Plum I think you are a good poster...you appear honest and humble but there again I realise that you made a few blunders so I'm not going to let you get away with it but we all do...crumbs I've made terrible blunders too...in fact I do that daily

The best posters in rugby in my opinion have gone...Biltong Bek and the Mighty San (Sasuke)...the latters insights were good and he had a good sense of humour...we really miss him. Biltong Bek was very good in reading a game but alas a bit sensitive...but so am I...personal attacks and mud slinging is not attractive.

Oi Matey, is balanced and level headed but this bird has appeared to have flown.

There are some here that are quite good but spoil it with bad mouthing and personal attacks on members they don't agree with and there is the odd vark...luckily though we don't have have that snake Taipan (aka Bed Pan...lol) from the Kamp.

Beeno is fine...but he gets out of hand...when he forgets to take his medication...I believe he is misunderstood and jars certain personalities the wrong way

Dr Win and Cloudy are the most pleasant and courteous posters and yes their knowledge of NZ rugby is sound and informative.

Then ofcourse you have the 2 "Grumpy Old Grandads" that just cannot agree and live in peace...it's an ongoing feud and will last their life times until the first pops off...that will be traumatic for the remaining one who will totally lost without this stimuli... this will be PSTD and not PSDT

Anyway I wish all of you and your families peace and goodwill over this crazy period.

Hahahaha...and Bluebok earns a nomination from left field!!! What a legend I am! Rooi, really? You can't possibly be so sensitive that that comment offended you? Just read what I posted on that thread again...I was basically complimenting you, I was just surprised that you had not yet offered a rebuttal by the time I made my post. That said, it is no skin off my back if I don't receive a Christmas card from you, my friends in real life are more than capable of propping up my fragile ego. I really didn't think a hard nosed individual like yourself would have you feathers ruffled by such an innocuous comment.
With that out of the way my nominations are;
1) TheTraditionalist: I don't get high enough for this flake to make any sense at all. I have never seen one person type so many words but say so little. 2) Denny: In general his posts are fine even if fairly one sided, but his bipolar tendency to suddenly get a random fantasy idea in his head that then becomes reality is pretty disturbing. 3) Moz and Mike: I group you two together for one very simple reason. You accuse one another of being single minded and unwilling to consider any sort of alternative view, and here is the kicker, you are both 100% right! The repetition borders on insane.4) Beans: Gloating and never ever ever admitting defeat, regardless of the facts. Always blaming something or someone else for everything...very much like an ANC politician....no wonder he found the US election so appealing.
The posters I found most interesting or entertaining (weather I agreed with their opinions or not);
1) Rooi (Yes, despite what I said above): Still the most articulate poster on the board, and never fails to spark a debate. Has a way with the English language that is very clever and very funny.2) Plum: Always interesting and balanced.3) Cleancut: Legendary in his abrasiveness, but I love the fact that he is so politically incorrect. In a world of dishonest politeness, he is a breath of fresh air. 4) Moz (Yes, he makes both lists): Always interesting, and he has on a few occasions made me change my mind on my perceived "rugby certainties" based on solid and convincing arguments. Has made a few brave calls that very much went against the narrative, that turned out to be correct.

The best lol...

Yes Rooinek is fine when he sticks to rugby and Moz LMAO is fine on the arts, golf ,music and the more refined things of life like good wine and champagne but when it comes to rugby...he is biased and throws the baby out with the bathwater...Beeno just pushes the wrong buttons at the right time....or is it the other way round... ha ha ha.

Maybe we forgot Borado who tried to calm this forum down by offering us his wares....

ie Beeno seemed to calm down when Borado posted on Beeno's Tr.um.pet.

PS Why do we still have to put dots on the USA presidents name...who won fair and square, is our moderator too very biased

Since you are asking so nicely, yes, no problem. This is what happened. I recently had to re-install my Firefox browser and the spellchecker is not on by default which means that you have to "tell" Firefox to do a spellcheck. I have since, for the convenience of clowns who regularly fail to recognise a typo, set the browser to do a spellcheck by default.

As for the use of special characters like the one I used in t!ts...... As you know, the administrators have introduced filters to filter out the use of certain words and that is one way of getting around that. Another way is to "misspell" cert ain words which you expect to be picked up by the filters. I trust that this is not too difficult for you to understand.

I don't actually know what is more surprising to me, the fact that I got a mention here, or the fact that Piss Mint is still bellyaching and crying over a comment that bluebok made about him a while ago.

Blue, clearly you hurt Piss Mint's feelings then, and obviously still, I mean, to actually link back to that thread to prove his point is really quiet sad, but the guy is so obviously hurting bad.

Maybe Piss Mint will reflect on his behaviour from the last year over these upcoming holidays and come back in 2017 as both a sober individual, and a nicer person with a less fragile ego.

Tis the sea son of hope

No excuses was used. Just a few facts to "put clarity............" as requested. Excuses would have been something like "..there were no spelling mistakes at all. They were pure 'fingerfaults'. The 'o' is right next to the 'p', etc, etc".

This, you see, is exactly why I made the very last remark in my post. Let me repeat it for you for easy reference. "I trust that this is not too difficult for you to understand".

Now that I think about it. Maybe that last sentence was wishful thinking on my part.........

Worst poster has to be thetraditionalist. Something is really wrong there. I have heard the opinions of people who think very differently before & sometimes they bring new insight but this bloke's ramblings cannot be deciphered. Still, as all posters add something to the ongoing dialogue perhaps Trad will make sense one day.
Best poster has to be someone like Plum, San Sasuke or Biltong on substance. Although 2 of these three have left the forum.
Beeno gets the award for demonstrating that stringing random nonsensical words together can get a positive outcome once in a while. Lets hope he has something to crow about on the rugby front next year as the Boks abysmal performance this year left him speechless on rugby matters.
CleverMike & Mozart get the "grumpy old men award".
Crusader get's the new poster of the year award. Cloudy get's the most pleasant person award, Wardad get's the "best use of colloquial language" award, Abasquefan gets the award for most wins in fantasy rugby.
Mozart gets the award for being able to justify his arguments regardless of their real merit.
CC gets the "I'm a tough guy" award but he makes his case well on most rugby matters.
CleverMike gets the award for stubbornness.
