Two weeks ago Rohan van Rensburg in the game against the Blues missed 5 of his 11 tackles - which obviously is a serious problem.   That apart was fine - but the poster regards Fat Fransie as a fiorstc hoice Springbok center and hereis a problem insofar as he is concerned.

In the Montpellier game this weekend have exactly the same stats (6 tackles made and five missed).   Fat Fransie played at fly half in that game - but whether at flyhalf or center - his defense/tackling is a disaster.

Ou maaaakie do you really exist or are you a Russian Bot?

Rohan is looking great and could make the Bok side. The way these people assess missed tackles leaves a lot to be desired. EG a player makes an outstanding effort to get near and make the tackle but fails  = a missed tackle. The qualatative aspects are ignored. Cant say over a long period i t has been proved Rohan cant tackle.

If someone wants to be a professional sports person, fitness is non-negotiable.

We pay good money to critique these players, and we dont want to watch lazy fat slobs running around.

Rohan was probably a very skilful player. However, his current condition is totally unacceptable. It is the results of too much creatine- and changing diets.

It is too easy to sidestep creatine Zombies- who become small forwards in the backline.

Beeno

Maybe the reason for Van Rensburg missing so many tackles his to do with him playing next to the seriously poor defense flyhalf - Jantjies.   However, defense has been Rohan's most serious deficiency.   And playing in a backline who leak tries through poor defense he does not look good.

The problem is that the Lions loosies are also not all that good and leaving defense in the channel as a problem. I thin the present situation is that for me Willemse is the no 10 of the Springboks - and the center combination based on performace thus far is De Allende at 12 and Kriel at 13,   Viljoen is a possible contender for 13  - even though some speak of Am he is a midget and fails more than he succeeds.  The dark horse may be Venter.

CC in respect of all thee potential outside centers some posters will have a fit, but if they can suggest a better combination.

I think that Van Rensburg is a more non-thinking player and to start running he is slow and it takes time for him to get to a higher pace.   A strong player in the Fat Fransie style - in other words in my view a no-no at this stage.

Venter is never a dark horse. He is a dark donkey. That is where it begins and end with him. In Curry Cup rugby he is ok- but he is not an international standard player.
We need coaches to mentor younger players- but most of our coaches turn any talented player into a creatine zombie.
