I cannot lay my finger on it entirely - but there are something amiss in the team. The first problem I saw the last two games have been Kankowski. He was non=productive last week and wicked this week. Frankly I was disgusted by what he produced tonight.
Then there is the Sharks backline - something is seriously amiss there. I think the real problem is from Positions 9 to 12. The problem tonight was that Reinach was injured and replaced early. Mcleod service was not really acceptable. He repeatedly passed the ball to the loosies resulting in minimal benefits - the latter lost the ball at least 7 times with serious negative consequences for the Sharks, and gave away penalties as well. He seemed to be totally clueless about reading of the game and what to do next. In this particular case Reinach's injury cost the Sharks dearly.
Swiel tried his utmost under very poor conditions. The experience he gained today would help him in future. He was solid in all aspects of the game.
I have heard so mucg in the past about Steyn;s massive ball carrying abilities but once again nothing of that tonight - matter of fact there has been none since the first Super 15 game this year. Where he was severely criticized by the commentators tonight was kicking possession away When there was a turnover in possession and they were in the Bulls half already. Not impressed at all. He is good in kicking at goal - but the rest of his game is sub-par/ Was it for instance necessary for him to give away a penalty straight in front of the posts in the final few minutes of the game?
