Apologies, but this really does deserve a thread all on its own rather than bugger up the official match thread.
Let the fun begin...
For me the only surprise there would be choosing Etzebeth ahead of Flip Flop. Etzebeth is by far the more dynamic player but he comes from....you know where. For the rest, we have no openside flanker of note in the team, and young Coetzee has been playing very well.
Some might think a Kirchner pick would be a surprise, given he has never seen a tackle he couldn't miss. But he's a big lad, and you know in spite of the gym work, Lambie is really a small fella.
Wow and all this talk about a Bulls side when we have 7 Sharks (Frans is a Shark now), 5 Bulls and 3 Stormers - lets face it if Bekker had been fit it would have beeb Bulls and Stormers 4 - you clowns dont half speak a load of rubbish - Bulls side my arse
Saffex
I have my doubts about the team selection myself. i think that Etzebeth will be left out in facour of Flippie. That makes six Bulls - and I would put Potgieter is number 7. So the team would have 7 Bulls and 6 Sharks in the team - whilst there would be 2 from the Stormers.
The show is just starting - and already one has to question Meyer's approach. By the way my own famous rating of the players I think will be selected are as follows:-
15 Worst frnachise full back in SA- 2 out of 10
14 Habana 7 out of 10
13 De Villiers 7 out of 10
12 F Steyn 7 out of 10
11 Pietersen - slow carthorse 4 out of 10
10 M Steyn - 3 out of 10
9 Hougaard 5 out of 10
8 Spies 3 out of 10
7 Potgieter 4 out of 10
6 Coetzee 7 out of 10
5 Flippie 3 out of 10
4 Kruger 4 out of 10
3 Du Plessis 5 out of 10
2 Bismarck 6 out of 10
1 Beast 6 out of 10
The above assessments are based on recent performances on Super 15 level. After Saturday we will be able to see what the movements are in the present assessment. I can only suggest a loss on Saturday - after which we would be told there is no reason to panic and then another loss by the half-bulls team.
Of the above the following player performances has been identified as follows: -
7 out of 10 - 4 players
6 out of 10 - 2 players
5 out of 10 - 2 players
4 out of 10 - 3 players
3 out of 10 - 3 players
2 out of 10 - 1 player
Over the last five months only six players have performed to a level where they should play international rugby - five and below is just not acceptable. Watch the panic after Saturday!!!!!!
