….against the Bools looked pretty marginal. Based on that I can’t see him being selected ahead of our current props.

Thomas is better @ Loosehead Prop....my opinion is that he should stick to that side of the scrum.....and secondly get a Specialist Tighthead prop like Wilco Louw into Squad.

There was nothing wrong with his scrumming against the Bulls at all

I agree, DuToit was an exceptional loose head. He is solid at tighthead, but it would be better to have him at loose head.

Saffex, bear in mind that what Moffie and the Dim Sum/Gonzo/Desert Fool/Alutwat complex know about scrummaging is equivalent to ou Maaik's knowledge of history.

So Peeper are you saying he wasn’t penalized at scrum time….a simple yes or no will do.

Rooinek

I am not involved - but what you know about history is less than the knowledge of a two-year old on that subject.    So keep to lies and distortions - that is your forte on any topic.

As to Du Toit he is to my mind a good loosehead and not a tighthead prop.   I think his scrumming in the no 3 position is not up to standard and never really was,

"So Peeper are you saying . . . blah blah blah . . ."
No Florian, what I'm saying is exactly what I posted above. No more, no less.
If you're finding some of the big words too difficult for you, then put down your morning pink gin, call one of the caregivers and ask her to explain them to you. Maybe she can change your colostomy bag while she's there.
Okay? Good . . . run along then . . .

One bloody penalty for a technicality. His feet where too far back. He was hardly being dominated Problem is, these fools ignore the fact that he was simply outstanding at tighthead last URC season, it was his coming of age as a tighthead scrummager There is good reason he was not going to dominate against the Bulls considering they had no enforcer lock behind him. With Eben on Bok duty, they had Grobelaar switch to 4 and the string bean Andrews at 5. Thomas was solid in the scrums against the Bulls and that’s a fact - one technical penalty does not define his day What utter shit

This guy is a beast. Not sure if anyone on here ever played prop, maybe 90% of you keyboard warriors . It is a mystery what goes on in there.

So no idea how the refs calls these. The only thing is certain is when the prop scrums in or drops his bind.

Frans Malherbe has a tendency to slip and drop the scrum. But still one of the best scrummagers out there

The sharks are sitting with two of the biggest props. Carlu Sadi and Du Toit 135kg each.

We could easily field 4 massive props and rotate them. However, I'm more interested in their ball carrying and general play than just scrumming. Are they good lifter, hit the rucks, solid tacklers and can give you go forward ball.

I think La Rochelle won the Heineken with a massive pack. Definitely gives you a huge advantage

Thomas should be on the Bok bench ahead of Koch - he is a solid scrummager and great in general play - in particular effecting turnovers

This is another Marcel van der Merwe delusion Dave….this guy may be strong, but he is not a great scrummager and will be exploited by the better looseheads,

Bullshit Moz Thomas was dominant in the scrums last season. You base your nonsense on one technical penalty and fail to recognise the locks and rest of the front row he was working with on the day I would respect your call if it was based on a seasons worth of watching him - based on your take you clearly have not Thomas took a season or two to master the art of tighthead as did Nyakane and Thomas impressed me big time with his scrummaging last season and has been good this year with the right team mates Marcel vd Merwe was good until he went to France - came back to the Bulls and was awful
