How good was Thomas in that last test. I told you he had mastered the art of tighthead play. He dominated in the scrums, won us a turnover over the ball, put in a good few charges with ball in hand and made a good few tackles He had a great test adding yet more depth to our already impressive list of props Orie was predictably utterly useless - I wish Jason Jenkins would be added to the squad instead of Orie

Thomas was good and it was nice to see him having a successful test.

Haven't heard anything about Nyankane and his injury. Now this guy has upped the ante. ADD IN OX AND OUR PROP STOCKS HAVE RISEN.

Orie is really not an international lock, a quota pick. No other reasonable for his selection.

I am not too happy with Malherbe. I think he has slipped. Doesn't look in top condition to me and scrumming has not been that convincing. Maybe big men like him take time to get going?  SAW SOMEWHERE HE IS 139 KG. T HAT IS ABOUT 6KG TOO MUCH.

Tighthead stock for the Boks is at an all-time high. It is good they are rotating players to build depth to cover injuries and ovoid overplaying key players, so next player can just slot into the system.
I think Malherbe is the best scru mmager so a good starting player, so it will come down to outside the scrum as well.

  • Malherbe
  • Thomas Du Toit
  • Wilco Louw
  • Nyakani -  (Can play tighthead, and loosehead- albeit better at loosehead).
  • Koch - (placeholder. Solid, but there are other props with more all-around games).

  • Malherbe played well in the 2nd and 3rd test against the B&I Lions.
Probably not fit enough to be 100%. After an injury, he usually takes a while to get into top form.

Malherbe is a solid scrummager when in form. He hasn't been in form since 2018. He won't dominate in the scrum. His best attribute was his work in general play, but that has been well off the pace. When in form his defence is rock solid for such a big man and ruck cleaning gives the Boks more control of their ball. He is a pretty reliable carrier, and has shown some good handling.

Our stock at prop is at its highest since around 2006 to 2011.

Everyone has opinions, like ex-player media pundits or fans. They have different opinions, but sometimes they all agree on something.

If I disagreed with ex-player media pundits who all agree on something, I would question my own assessment.

Unlike, Augenoffer (aka Mary Contrary) who just takes the alternative view...

Malherbe could have been penalized several times in the last few tests. His knee almost always hits the deck.

I've done something you plastics can never do and have never done: I've backed my words up. Plastics, always wrong, but try to compensate for being loud.
