As I have said a number of times before Plum its what should be happening. A potentially world class scrummie will be ruined on the wing. Man what a crying shame.

His size will count less against him there, but he will have less space there, and he's thriving with the space he enjoys now. Does he have a box kick?

Too late for that, I can't recall any drastic late changes in position (Atleast for such different positions as fullback and scrum half) that have been a success.

Cheslin Kolbe has got this far playing at fullback or wing and right now he's the most exciting fullback in the country by some distance. Why mess with that before the guy's even had a chance to prove himself?
I think we'll see Kolbe the fullback ripping S15 defences to shreds next season and hopefully he'll be rewarded by getting a chance to prove himself in next year's June tests . . . although for that to happen we'll need Heyneke Meyer to get over the same size obsession we're seeing from posters on this thread.
Leave him at fullback . . . anyone who's actually watched the Currie Cup this year can confirm that he's doing just fine and no-one is taking advantage of his perceived lack of size. You go Cheslin!

Agree Rooi, he's doing fine at 15 amongst some big boys in the CC, let's see how he goes in the S15 before trying to fit him into a preconcieved hole.

Great idea!!!!!!!!!!!
Now we should also consider Moffie for fullback.
Kolbe is the best fullback after Willie in RSA at present......so why would you mess with him?
HUH?

Nice comments guys.
I've watched a lot of CC this year. More than i usually do. And i yes, i have been impressed by Kolbe. Not nearly as impressed with him as i was in the U21WC, but impressed nonetheless. Obviously U21 is not in the same league as the big boy's game.
Some questions for you. Not being a di.ck, just really want your opinions.
1) Is he really our second best FB?
2) If his size and pace will mean quick ball from breakdowns along with some of the best breaks we might ever see from a 9, is it really a bad idea?
3) If Willie was injured, would you guys pick Kolbe as the Bok's FB now?
4) Has he been properly tested at FB considering test rugby is much more of a kicking game than the CC and to some degree also S15?
Must say i agree with this...

Because OMG the Pienaar thing was a monster fail. That's not sarcasm. I really think it was a freakin horrible idea and made me hate rugby for a while. Still recovering.
I guess Ruan is in part to blame for my question. Just feels to me like it has been way too long since we had snappy ball from the breakdown. And when i think about that demon of a sidestep Kolbe poss esses i begin to have delusions of being no.1.
