Who's at fault...Ireland and USA game 2013...Devin Toner or Todd Clever?

The public spectators view versus the experts and referees???

My opinion the French ref punished the wrong player!

I think  that, technically, it was the right decision. Clever did  turn him and he went down on top of him. With Clever's picking him up, it was his responsibility to put him down safely, and any player who doesn't know that by now...... Whether it warranted a card is debatable.

I can remember Clever playing for the Lions. Always liked him. Not a dirty player, by nature, either.

clever was in the wrong, theres a frame where his arm can be seen going between toners legs and then clever lifting toner up past the horizontal.

and ref made technically made the correct call, but he could have made a better one, it deserved a penalty and not a card, there was enough going IMO to make it clear that it wasnt all clevers recklessness like the fact that toner had his arms wrapped around him and wasnt letting him go.

pastarini is a weak ref though, and dosent have the ability/balls to make that type of judgment call.
hes also useless.

Don't agree Sass. The clarification was that a "spear tackle" was at least a suspension.  You cannot have one without the other.
