Iy is not always possible to equate performances in the Super 15 series with what is happening in the RC - but there are a few things that could be deducted from the series as a whole:-
* Australia hs a problem at lock. The best combination of Horwell and Simmons have problems in getting secure line out posession from own throw and although they are relatively pacy - they are not particularly good in tight phases of play.
* At prop the situation is slightly better - even though the Waratahs struggled on Saturday against the Crusaders - likely to provide most of the Tight 5 combination of the All Blacks - perhaps with the exception of the hooker and Retallick - Bird is likely to be on the bench. However, Slipper and the Brumbies props are likely to improve this deficiency markedly.
* There loosies are bery good - Hooper probably at this stage the best flank forward at present playing in the world.
* Foley is a very good flyhalf - also competing for top active flyhalf - and the abckline of the Aussies are a major factor in their favour.
Anybody claiming that the Wallabies will be an easy beat in the upcoming RC is likely to eat humble pie. I would give them a 50-50 chance against the Ab Blacks and - depending on Meyer's team selection - the same against the Springboks. If Meyer goes for the the team that played against the Welsh in June - then both the Wallabies and the AB's will have a 70-30 chance to beat the Springboks.
