Time for Jake to pack his bags
Spot on Pakie…the Bools were very unlucky. And the Bools’ front row out scrummed the Sharks vaunted front row that as the bomb squad saved the WC for Rasmus. The first coach to get that right….England should have hired Jake, he would never have tolerated the pathetic English scrum which lost the last two matches against the Boks.
Stupidly they thought it was Eddie and not Jake who won the 2007 WC,
Agree Saffex. Joke White is being exposed as the very avergae coach that he is.
I love the way the noobs shriek about how unlucky Joke is after every game he loses and the same clowns whine about how lucky Rassie is after every game he wins.
Doesn't the luck ever change?
LMAO!
8 current Springboks in the Sharks starting team/ 6 Bulls…..Sharks playing at home. Sharks should have put the match away.
And it was a clear and obvious knock on by Black. He touched the ball into the Sharks player while the ball was going forward all the time….a ludicrous call by the ref. That incorrect call changed the game, because it also opened up the yellow card.
Let’s have some objectivity.
Sniff . . . it was the naughty ref . . . boohoohoo . . . it was just bad luck . . . and the yellow card was wrong . . . it's not fair!
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahahahaha!
Any excuse to try and give the useless coach a pass.
Yeah of course Pakie, let’s just blame Willie and Goosen who both happen to be world class players
Talk us through their world class performances on Saturday, Dave.
The Sharks had a few poor players in their team that should have helped the Bulls - but it did not. The Bulls also lost the plot., When attacking they refuse to go wider and often passed he ball standing still or near to still and the passes are made to forwards rather than backline players,
The ball hndling of both sides were substandard 90% of the time and possession handovers were far to many. The Bulls got two tries - one from Vorster and the ther from Wiese. Why was s much ball handling during the match was between the forwards with the Sharks tried bacline attacks it routinely broke down - the Bulls even more frequntly did the ame.The stormers played the Bulls this coming weekend and if the Bulls cannot beat the injury-plagued Sormers team - it will again conmfirm that the two worst coaches in SA are even poorer than people think they are. .
I just think Jake should shift to team manager and get a proper coach that knows the players and understands how they want to play. Using tactics that are 20 years old no longer works in today's team.
Can't believe that he coached the boks 20 years ago, crazy.
However, not sure how many new coaches there are these days. Don't see any one coming up through the Currie Cup or any expat South African coaches, but then again Franco Smith is really experienced and got a trophy last year, Johan van Graan at Bath is doing really well. Johan Ackerman is back from Japan. So maybe we have a few coaches around.
But it think Jake's ego is too big and would never play a supporting role to let a new coach come in.
Hanneke Meyer and Frans Ludeke were a a good combo. Everyone thinks Meyer won 3 super rugby titles but it was actually only one. Ludeke got the other 2 with Meyer being the coach.
I guess that is what is lacking in SA rugby, one guy to manage the team and the other to coach and do the on the day stuff.
Actually Leinster does that really well with Leo Cullen and Jacques's Nienaber and previously it was Lancaster.
I do believe we need to move away from these on man shows. Not sure what Neill Powell is actually bringing at the Saarks, but hopefully we'll see more talent being looked after
No the Sharks side on paper was better than the Bools.
Better at 15….13….12….11….10…9…1 2….5.
All players you have praised effusively Dave. They were missing more players, but that just shows what an awesome squad they have. To your point the Bools were missing nothing.
All of which tells you just how well Jake is doing with an inferior squad.
Believe it or not the Sharks in hose positons on the day as not better than the Bulls. That while the pnly backline try scored by eihr saidde came from a Bulls nackline mistake - while the Bulls backline try cme from Vorster at 12 - while Esterhuizn;e comtribution wa pisspoor
Fact is the Bulls mistakes sems from pirss-poor coaching. It was clear that the eam did not hve a winning startgy. Before Satirdayss match the Bulls were nmber 2 on the URC log and the Sharks nmber 6. After the debacle on Satirday the Bulls went down to position 3 and the Sharks went up to 4.
The problem is there are 2 sub-stndard coaches left on Franchise level and those are Dobson and White -n game plna - no winning strategy is all in evidence.
Grumbling about the quality of the players is nothing short of pathetic. Those are the players Joke selected for the game and those are the players Joke bought . . . with a bigger budget than anyone else.
Useless coach, useless selector and a useless talent scout.
Fassi is better than Willie now…..do you have Willie in your Bok team?
Gans is not up there with Hooker. Not according to your lists
Jordan is the flavor of the day, Goosen is an old man
The genius is picking Jayden over Papier….would you question the genius?
The Acker call may be a 50/50. But that still leaves the Sharks with 8 better starters. Hold I missed Esterhuizen, clearly better than Vorster. Back to 9.
You were actually talking nonsense and have just been exposed again.
Peeper I’m posting an article on budgets….I suggest you educate yourself before you embarrass yourself again.
Wehe . . . "Not so Fassi", the player you called slow and overrated?
Just like you slagged off Cheslin (will never make it as a test wing), two time World Player of the Year PSdT and Esterhuizen the "snail" (slowest player in Super Rugby) . . . the list of star Springboks whose talent you failed to spot is growing, Moffie.
LMAO!
You missed the word ‘now’ Peeper. I simply said Fassi wasn’t ready yet….and of course I was right when I wrote it. Right about Dud Allende. Right about Dud Toit for 5 years during which he couldn’t nail down a starting spot, until he became a specialist tackler which suited Erasmus’ basic game plan. He actually played his best rugby by far this year.
Now let’s see….who didn’t you like Peeper….Etzebeth the best lock in the game and Willie for sure. And of course Erasmus until you did a 180 when he luckily won the WC.
Go to your best Bok team today and put some chutney on your crow.
Pakie im not saying they were good but neither were they bad - but they
are both proven world class players and laying the blame on them is
laughable
They were shit. Name one productive play Goosen produced. I can name a string of mistakes -missing 3 penalties, getting swatted like a fly by Esterhuizen near the Sharks tryline allowing them to break out, kicking the ball dead from his own 10m line, numerous tactical kicks that went too deep to be of any use, a cross kick straight into Jordan's hands while the Bulls had an advantage, failing to find touch with a penalty, bouncing pass at 14:59 resulting in a knock on, another bouncing pass saved only by a Bulls advantage, etc. etc. In short, a shitshow.
Willie's first decent play was hitting the line and releasing Moodie near the end, with Moodie proceeding to hold on too long with support on either side of him. Another lost chance that wasn't Jake's fault.
Between the two of them they conspired to si nk just about every opportunity or advantage with which they got involved.
Ox and Esterhuizen. I also thought you had Fassi but I see you included him in your coming best team….so 2 Bulls/2 Dharks and the Sharks were playing at home.
In your coming team there were 4 Sharks and 6 Bulls.
So in total 6 vs 8 no big deal, offset by home advantage and a crucial reffing mistake.
Mozart
That is BS. The Bookmakers ahd he Bulls as favorite and that says a lot as to which team is supposed to have won and their performances i crucial gmes are always questional sinc ethey change their playing style in such matches/
A week ago the Sharks played a horror against their oponents by utig in a horrible away display- while he Bulls manage to lose t hom by a uch smaller margin. The mach against the sahrks showed how really vulneable in key matches and nobody look objectively why the Bulls lose in key matches
.
Dave I agree, but all that tells you is the Sharks have a much better squad than the Bools. The teams on the field on Saturday were balanced in talent.
That implies the Sharks should do very well this year, just as your mate Rich said.
Impressive depth. I do think the Sharks first team is the best we have now though…the Bools seem to have lost a lot of bite behind the scrum with the departure of Arendse.
