Mayb in the last  20 minutes we run the ball and give the youngster a shot. Move  JP to center, Jean to  and bring on Basson and blitz them with some real pace etc. Kan kan also will have to relieve Potgieter who is bound to tire.

This could be an option if we are well ahead. Just dont tamper too much with the front row! Value will be gained by trying a few players.

I am excited to see what Jantjes can do, but also a little scared. He is sort of like Quade, although, I don't think he has quite as much X factor, but still, he offers that "great unkown" that can sometimes spark something special. The problem is his consistancy....damn, I really don't know what to expect from him. Lets wait and see I guess.

I suspect he will get 20 minutes to a full half depending on the scoreline and Morne's kicking.

I am eager to see what he can do with the pressure, of this "must win" series final game.

Problem is that Jantjies is not consistent  in performance and nobody knows whether he would be able to handle the pressure on international level.   He may come on if the Springboks have a healthy lead - but not eearlier than 10 minutes before the end of the game.   Remember - if he buggers up - he can be replaced only through some disruption of the back line.

Yes, lets get some flair and creativity in at 10. Bring Jantjies on sooner than later. I am surprised Greyling is not on the bench ahead of Werner Kruger, strange call.

Bring Jantjies on at 10, move Jean to 12 and play JP at 13

Just don't expect him to make his tackles.

ive always liked janties, but his form since returning from injury has left big questionmarks, but u cant forget he has been a part of the lions outfit and they would take a lot of gloss of the top 10s in the world, carter, cruden, goosen etc.

i cant see janbties getting a run unless meyer is convinced the game is in the bag, after all winning is his No1 prority followed closely by player devlopment.
i reckon janties could do a lot of great things should he get the opportunity to play, but it will also depend on his mindset, i mean first test cap, no gametime synergy with players around him, it would be easy to see be in awe of the occassion and not do what most of us know he can do.
i hope habana takes him under his wing and helps with the mental side of things, cos theres no better mentor for getting ur head sorted for such an occassion.

@clevermike... How can you comment on his consistency when he has a bunch of hoohaas on either side of him? Only judge him when he has the quality 8, 9, 12 and 13 that he needs. Look at Nonu... He hasn't looked special at all when he played for the Blues this year!

@moz... Im surprised man.... You usually have a lot of sense to say... but your "Just don't expect him to make his tackles" comment was pathetic as well! There is absolutly nothing wrong at all with his defense. Watch every game he has played and count how many fantastic tackles / assist tackles he has made. He rarely lets anyone past him!

@orange peeler Gareth... you just keep peeling your oranges! No one asked you! :)

Guys come on...

You raise the most pathetic arguments about Jantjies...

People also tend to forget that he is only 21! He won the CC when was 20!

He can't be that useless can he??

I am confident that he can do a good job, but we need a great man to replace morne now. I see it Lambie personally, but only these next few test at international will tell if Jantjies is up for it. Have faith in our couch and belief in our players! Until they miss 5 in row...

Read that Meyer said that he does not want to just hand out Bok caps to all who play S15 rugby....hope he stays true to his word and does not give hand out caps this test match to you guys know who!!!!!!!

Grant from the Stormers should have been selected for the #10 bench position.

Sharks/Bok/Rugby supporter overseas (Canada) but still a South African.

Sorry.........

I hope he perrforms better than his brother does in the Under 20 side.    There is a huge difference between CC rugby and Super 15 rugby - and an even bigger one between Super 15 and International rugby.   Many players on the lower levels of the game can not successfully go from the lower levels to ineternational level  - and that is the worrying factor here.

Problem is that opposing teams work out players quickly and take counter-measures to neutralize them or exploit their weaknesses.   That is the main reason why I am not sure whether he would be a success.   However, give the youngster a chance - otherwise how can he make it to higher level.    However, if he is not a success it could destroy his career possibilities - even on lower level.

Remember what happened to Earl Rose - he arrived with the same fanfare and was really a flop.    Hope it is not the case here.

for some strange reason Everytime i see Janjies play, and it's not just because he plays for the Lions I think of Andre Pretorius. All the Talent in the world. The kid just needs to apply. It is rare that a player can kick a ball deliberately with the outside of his feet at full tilt. This kid has always had the makings I whish he can stand up though. If he gets a chance this will be it, as most fans rate Lambie better than him. He needs to step up and use it, for his own career, if he doesn't it's goners, cause Goosen will be back.
