First off...the article is from Rugby365.

But I wanted to post it here cuase if there is one player in the midfield that has set the standard for leadership, defense, attack and all out creativity then we dont have to look any further then BOD.Its sad to see him go.I think secretly he is heart broken by the idea of leaving the field.I personally rate him as the best center to ever play in the professional game. What compliments his career is that he never gave up and passionately served the Irish rugby football union.I saw him play his first game and I was only 14.Welldone BOD,you will be missed around the world and some might even be glad to see you go,cause now they wont be bombarded with smat foot work, crunshing tackles and perfect angles.

 Arizona
Sad to see him go - he was exactly as you said.   He was not very good in 2012 in New Zealand and I think he subsequently made a special effort and proved to do much better in the past year - knowing his retirement was imminent.

What a pity!

The topic of this thread made me think the foul-mouthed, racist, snivelling little pretend-soldier was saying goodbye to this site . . . but it looks like he's still here.

Way over the top saying BO'D is the best 13 ever! A good player, yes, but the only thing champion about him was his longevity.

On second thoughts, he was a champion whinger of the highest order after being taken out by Umaga and Mealamu in 2005 lions tour.

Gerber, Bunce, Stanley and Bruce Robertson were better in my opinion with Danie taking out the top spot.

Yep I agree, Foreveramber should have stopped right there with his subject line. Still I have my hopes up, perhaps one day he'll report back to tell us how he shot himself in his fouled mouth.

It's just a wsh.
