Timo Swiel - a vast diasppointment

I saw Swiel playing at 10 for WP in the game against the Lions last week and my disappointment in his performance was huge. He missed an easy conversion and produced nothing special at fyhalf. Coetzee's coaching style must gave gotten to him - he looked like a poor version of Morne Steyn - gone Is the magic that he showed whilst at Bishops and in came the dead backline approach so noticeable in SA flyhalfs. That is a further example where SA coaches manage to do to promising youngsters - coach ball sense out of them completely. By the way I am beginning to like Stokkies Hanekom very much as a 13. He scored two very good tries - and could have scored a third one - if he did not decide to off-load the ball to a player outside of him - who in fact scored the try.

Did Lionel Cronje play for the Lions and how did he do? He has been impressed me in one or 2 of the othe games and I was starting to think that WP made a grave error by letting him go.

Ek No - Cronje did not play and I see he is this week in the Lions B side, The A-side is playing the Sharks st 7 this evening and the game is broadcasted as well. I see Ludick is back for the Sharks and playing at 13 opposite Hanekom.
