URA Tournament has one round of matches to be played this coming weekend, so here are the log situuation as present :-

https://rugby365.com/tournaments/united-rugby-championship/logs/

There are in some cses small differences that could ffct hhe bottom 4 seets so all contenders muaat wi by as a wide ab amrgin as possible, So I will gie the teams layer on but the SA teams matches are facing the following:-

Bulls vs Dagond

Sharls vs Scarlets

Stormers vs Cardiff

Lions vs Ospreys,

It is essential that the SA teams for the follwing should all win the four matches:-

  1. The Bulls must win to ensure their 2nd position on the log
  2. The Sharks can potentially move up from 4 to 3 by beating Scarlets. The present 3rd rankd team - Glasgow is playing Leinster in Round 18.
  3. The Stornmer must win to protect the number 5 ranking
  4. The Lions cannot make the top 8 - bit a win would mean moving up in the log substantially

I’ve never been a lions fan but they are so pathetic. Just wish they would kick them out of URC and bring back the cheetahs. They Lost again at home and will again next week against a very weak lions team

KC

The proem si who is sponsoring the teams like the Lions and the Cheetahs and provide enough funds to contract top class players, They either go to the Bulls and Sharks and to a much lesser extent to the Stormers with the Cheetahs and Lions sucking the hind tit as the saying goes,

The fact is boththe Lions and Cheetahs teams are in the same situation with the Lions slightly better of than the Cheetahs, Unless they get more funding neither of the teams will be stronger in the URC or any other competition.

Whe t comes to the Curry Cup the Bulls, Sharks and Stormers do not use their frontline players and that is where the smaller unions can get away with winning the trophy,

Esterhuizen is my SA player of the competition thus far.

It's close between him and Sacha, but AE is just so quick and strong and amazing that I can just put Sacha ahead of him. I hope AE coaches Sacha when he retires because he has a world of knowledge and skill to impart on him. And I'm sure that after a long and successful career, Sacha will list AE as top among the most influential players and coaches in his career.

I'm predicting that AE will score the winning tries in the remainder of the Sharks game this season and then go on to carry the Boks on his back against the ABs to win the series for the Boks and for South Africa by 2 to 0.

Three cheers for Esterhuizen!!!

Yes, Esterhuizen is the standout SA rugby player this year. Only a fool would think otherwise. AE makes Sacha look pedestrian by comparison. He has the hunger of Franco Mostert, the pace of Ethan Hooker, the nerve of Morne Steyn and the sharp brain of Joe Biden.

I'm sure there isn't a single SA rugby supporter who wouldn't pick AE for the Boks in a heartbeat.

Incdentally Rooidoos this thread does not deal with indivdual players anyway - it bascally deal wth team issues not individual players,

And the normal BS from a person with zero rugby knowledge by idiot supreme.- Esterhuizen is slow, dimwiitted and incompeten rugby player exactly like rooidoos are normally.

Rooidoos

Esterhuizen is slow and dumb - so many South Africans differ trom the BS you and plum wrote abve, I will lay a bet that he would not eb in the SA side in tests this year unless Erasmus decide too commit Hara Kiri by selecting him.

Dumbo has not had one decent performance for the Spingboks durin g the past 6 years so at 31 he has zero chamce of improving on what he produced for the Springboks at the age of 31. O wan to ask a decent question - has there eve been a Spring bok center who played in 20 tests and never scored a try,? I canny trrmber such plater,

Sp gp and build a statue for Dumbo in Witgatwortelfontein where hew ould qualify to play in the secnd team. , , ,
