I am very surprised that there is not any noise being made about the fact that Rassie has announced that tomorrow's world cup final game against England, will be his last game as Springbok coach.

He is stepping down to continue his role as director of rugby..... so we need a new coach.

It is very concerning regarding who will take over the reigns from Rassie, especially given where Rassie has currently taken the Springboks, and how he has improved their game, image and reputation over the last 2 years.

What a damn shame that he wants to leave...…. I just seriously hope that they make a serious decision on who is capable of doing the job, and not make a quota selection to appease the politicians

The reputation has certainly changed. Our game has stagnated. We need a change. Will get a good change? That is the question.

Yeah Aug...… my concern is the temptation...…. or pressure...…. to keep all these politicians happy, and the only way to do that.... is to go the quota route...

Quite honestly I am surprised that Rassie ever got the job to begin with, given he is white

When the team fails, the white pawn comes in to fix the problem. When the team succeeds, they feel e mboldened to make, shall we say, changes.

Liza Page are still talking KAK.   When the Springboks won the RC he went gaga about how good the 2015 team was and how bad the 2019 Springboks are.  Now he is onto another battle to show the Springboks do not deserve to be in the WC Final.   He ignored that iro the scoring of tries are reaching a stage where they were near to double the number scored by the Meyer teams .   He ignored totally tries scored by De Allende and Du Toit and is totally absorbed in prejudice.  The idiot is a  nut case.

I think the new coach will be Jones who previously assisted Erasmus at Munster.   They are very alike.  Both are real genius rugby experts with a massive knowledge of the game - unlike the dolts we got accustomed to over the last decad e

Rassie leaving is BS. The side is developing well.

Love to see Rassie and Jones at helm. What a combo!

Help me understand this. Rassie brought in Felix Jones very recently and now it is seen as “another” sign of Rassie’s geniality. When Jake White also brought in a certain Jones in 2007 it was because he was a stupid fool who knew fokol and he was forced to do so to save his arse.

No Ceradyne

What you said is totally distorted.   White had a lack of knowledge as to coaching of backline players and he brought Eddie Jones in to fix his personal problem of which he was totally aware himself and so did everyone else  in the public.   At the Brumbies he had Larkham to assist him iro of backline play.  At the Sharks he had nobody,  neither did he had at Montpellier.   We all know what happened in the  last franchise and club.

Maybe we should accept is that where both Meyer and Coetzee fell apart as well insofar as backline coaching is concerned.  I do not necessarily think that anybody called White a "stupid fool" - everyone knew why he got Eddie Jones in and that was one of the contributing reasons that the Springboks won the WC in 2007.

Vlag, I guess Rassie saw the "Sticky" problem approaching and was probably trying to take precautionary measures, but keep him (Rassie) in the building where he could still pull the  strings.

Sorry

But Erasmus will have a final say as to who he wants as head coach.  He will  keep Stick as an assistant and decide on the rest himself.

Didn't Rassie promise a 50% black representation in every match 23 at this year's WC?

He barely made 30%.

I wonder what happened to his statement of ... "we can win the WC with 50% black players" ... ???

I guess he had a changed of mind.

Wasn't Elton Jantjies supposed to feature more at the WC? What happened to him? I guess he's no longer the Tiger Woods of rugby.

What is the difference between Rassie’s Sticky problem and Jake’s Allister problem?

Rassie understands the value of money even it is SA Rands.

He like all the other sell outs will adhere to the ANC policy and appoint a coach of their choice.

When it comes to money they all appear to have a price rather than principles.

Well as long as he does not appoint Chilliboy or Bavuma as coach and Elton as backline coach we will just have to be satisfied with the ANC selection gangs choice I suppose.

Eddie Jones implemented very little. The Boks were already running Brumbies plays as early as 2004, when their lethal attack obliterated everyone. In Jake's time as coach, his Boks scored one less try against New Zealand than they scored against us. How many other coaches can boast of that? We won the World Cup playing Jake rugby, no more and no less. As Os du Randt said, it gave the players added confidence knowing that the originator of many of those moves was in the team. Is Os a liar Lügnerin?

The simple fact is that all attack figures under Rassie has been going in the opposite direction, away from trends in the game. Why is that? Why are our most potent attacking weapons struggling to leave any impression in the game? You rudiculed Willie's game in 2015, claiming "Meyer killed him", yet his figures were through the roof, particularly compared to his spell under Rassie. Why is that?

You are a very easy target. Worse then that, despite being a self-titled clever man, you have consistently shown no ability to learn.

Rassie has a history of  shedding responsibility. My guess is he thinks this is a good moment for him personally.

Chippy, what aspect of our game has really been developed? Not even defence. We are still being beaten the same ways we were beaten under Coetzee. The difference is conservatism conceals those limitations. Coetzee's all guns blazing approach left us vulnerable from turnovers - look at all of those All Black tries against us.

Rassie's time has come to a close. If he can win a World Cup then good for him, but he is not the man to take the Boks any further then that. The Boks are an archaic and stagnant team, the contrast between our game and that of up and coming minnows is actually quite alarming. Everyone is moving forward, everyone except us. If you truly care about the Boks, these things will concern you Chipp. If you truly hold the Boks to a high standard and have expectations for greatness, you'll surely agree.

As we have it, Rassie is let off the hook because of Coetzee and an enduring hatred of Meyer. That's it. I've never seen a Bok coach have it so easy. No expectations, no accountability. The media leave him in peace. This may be the greatest indicator that the Boks, at heart, are dead. We used to want more than this. To have ambition. Yet mediocrity is the comfort zone of too many South Africans. A new generation that knows nothing but failure and who love nothing more than a nice pat on the head so we can wag our tails like good little boys.

One has to accept that Shifty Schiff-Ztrzok amd Lizathie Page are professional liars and that is a description they always carry whatever they write,  SS-S has been caught out lying about Erasmus's career as a coach time and time again and Lizatjie is just too stupid as he does not realize when he writes BS on site.

What the idiots are writing above cannot be described as BS - since it would be an insult to the term BS to call it such.

I must add that I do not hate or dislike Meyer - I just find him to be a braaivleis coach - knowing more about braais than he knows about rugby coaching and he was rightly criticized when he made poor selections.

As to the crap he wrote about backline coaching before Jones arrived in 2007 - the players themselves said Jones told them things which no other coach ever told them about backline play. before.   So Lizatjie is inventing lies again.
