Tomorrow Coetzee is likely to name this team to play Ireland: . Coetzee. Skosan. Jessica. Allende. Leyds. Pollard. Cronje. Beast. Marx. Coenie. Etzebeth. Lomp. Stephanie. Kolisi. Louw. . But the sense is Coetzee and Cronje are journeymen. Skosan and Leyds are fine Super players, but not quite test material. Jessica is incredibly lucky to still be in the team, and is only there because Coetzee is as stubborn as a mule. Allende is a player who hasn’t progressed in international rugby....he has regressed. Pollard is a talent, but where is his form. It’s hard to say. . In the pack things are a bit better with a decent front row and strong back up props in Kitshoff and Wilco. We could do with another decent hooker though. Locks are our long suit, with potent players like Willemse not in the current mix. . Among the loosies Kolisi is the one settled choice, but I’m not convinced.....he certainly has had good games, but for me he was invisible against the All Blacks. The NH is a big test for him. Stephanie is not going to succeed at flank and Louw doesn’t look like he will make 2019. .. All of which says we have at least 10 positions that aren’t settled. And an entire backline that doesn’t even look competent, let alone inspired. It’s been a very unproductive year in terms of settling our 2019 team.....partly because we faced such poor opposition from France and the Bargies, which flattered some fundamentally flawed players.

It is easy to criticize without suggesting improvements.   I essence I agree with most of your comments - yet you refer above only to Willemse at lock - but it is totally unclear why he is mentioned.   He has been so-so in the past with a poor discipline record.   Why him - why not for instance a much better lock like Schickerling?
So where to with the rest of the players you refer to -
*   Who do you think should replace the list of unacceptable players you mentioned?*   Who should in your opinion be the SA coach?

I have some names in mind like van Wyk, Rohan, Wilco, Rhodes, Willemse. But all those players have to be test proven. That’s the whole point, there appear to be better options but the longer we stay with dead heads like Step, Allende, Jessica etc, the less time there is to create a better team. And the current team doesn’t have a prayer at the RWC.

 Moz, I agree, but:
We first need continuity And then we can start replacing some place holders with better players. We have to start building somewhere and we are slightly better than last year. It's not all doom and gloom and there are lots of possible  positive changes to be made.

FRont trow looks fine apart from back up hooker. Locks are fine too. Steph makes a great number 7 in the Teuns Stoffberg mould. Need a top number 8. Danil Du Preez will have a chance. Louw maybe a bit too slow. Kolisi deserves a chance against the NH and yes it should settle the question as he did go away a tad against the wee abs.
Its a travesty that Faf and Robert Du Preez are not in squad ditto Rohan and Willie Le Roux.Combrinck if fit should be in the squad as should Van Wyk.Too many quota players and poor selections like Dreyer
