Congrats to both teams. Chiefs finally showed something but the Brumbies really played there type of game and almost won it. More of a relief than a celebration for me as a Chief fans, lol
What do the rest of you think?

Sorry about the double topic, must be post match nerves, lol
Sheesh, that was a close one. I thought the Chiefs had blown it at half time but was relieved to see them claw their way back and claim a great victory. Well done Chiefs and condolences to the Brumbies.
I was at the game and the Brumbies gave it their all with the Chiefs attempting "million dollar" rugby in the first 50 minutes which just didn't work.
At 22-12 I thought we were gone but in true Champion style the Chiefs stormed home to a fortunate win.
Hats off to the Brumbies though; they didn't give up for 80 minutes even if George Smith was off-side for 79 of those!
Chiefs just taking it easy today, we all know the real final was last week. Typical Aussies fell over in the second half, the only conviction aussies have is in their family history :p
The Brumbies played their type of game (imposed themselves on the Chiefs) and the Chiefs couldn't settle into thier game plan. It didn't help that Cruden missed kicks. Over confidence, bad luck, good play from the Brumbies? Maybe all of that.
Good game - deserving of a final. Chiefs were just too good in the end - crowd was really into it the last 20 or 30.
I thought the turning point was the Brumbies scrum around the 50 minute mark inside the Chiefs half where they clearly had the upper hand, Chiefs were under pressure and walked it sideways. Joubert judged it to have turned 90 and gave possession to the Chiefs - a real momentum shift when it probably should have been a penalty the other way.
Mogg, White and Mowen made some bad mistakes at critical times and really put the Brumbies under pressure / cost opportunities. Kudos to Cruden for pulling it together, especially after Anscombe left the field - I thought Rennie had made a serious mistake there. Messam was huge - especially late in the game, showing his class in pressure situation.
In the battle of the coaches JW was the clear winner as his gameplan especially on defense with the pressure on TKB and Lealifano/Kuridrani squeezing the backline on rush defence had the Chiefs flummoxed for most of the match. Next up for JW - a head coach position at a Six Nations team. Someone is going to come calling. Wonder if the ARU has buyers remorse yet.
Brumbies made it watchable. White is a very good coach.
At the 60 minute mark I could tell the Chiefs had it though. The Brumbies just didn't have anything left. That last try for the Chiefs was a mess for the Brumbies. On the replay you could just see how tired the Brumbie players were.
spent the day at a conference and have just watched the more important lions/kings match.Still to see final.
I see the wee chiefies won a by a mere 5 points! Man that has to be a huge moral victory for the Brumbies. Consider the travel and home ground advantage the chiefes had. Any kiwi getting uppity should take that into account and not get delusional.
I hear Mitchell expressing concern about ageing abs and being worried about how things should go -another reason for kiwis to keep feet on the ground.
Hasbeeno, our feet are firmly planted on the ground on account of all the heavy trophies we are clutching!
Good to see the Australian colony / state to the east took out the win. We appease the inhabitants by letting win at rugby and other shiny trinkets...
Brumbies very close considering travelled 25000kms in the last 3wk. Crudeness did a massive choke in typical kiwi fashion
Ha, ha Redsman: can't quite bring yourself to be a good sport, eh?
I am looking at the game again and I think part of the Chiefs strategy was to score early (hence their attempts to throw it around & try and score tries). If they did score early they would force Brumbies to play catch up rugby. Somethiing they cannot do.
This strategy failed, hence the Brumbies were able to play to their strengths & their strategy of keeping the ball in Chiefs half & looking for penalties and lucky breaks. This is what happned of course.
It was only in the last quarter when things changed. This happened IMO because of the Brumbies travel ordeal & the weak bench, plus the strong bench of the Chiefs & their fighting spirit.
by the time the game came on i was drunk as a skunk having starting the drinking duties by lunchtime, and i know the game wa sa lot closer, by there wasnt a single second i thought the chiefs were going to lose, liquor obviously a factor though, lolz. after watching the game again today while nursing a hangover and with out the beer goggles, it really was quite a close one.
first of congrats to the chiefs, wooohooo, NZ represent!!! :oD
and big ups to the brumbies, really made a battle out of it, but i thought the chiefs bench, some stupid brumby mistakes and fatigue all combined nicely into a lethal cocktail the brumbies couldnt stomach.
the work that bundee aki, robinson and afeaki did of the bench is thevery defintion of impact, of course dave reenies timing was perfect, bringing them on just as the brumbies were starting to falter a litte and the presence of the bench became the straw that broke the camels or should i say donkeys back.
liam messam and brodie retallick had huuuuge games, very impressed with both of them in that game, they really fronted up.
i was shocked when the mogg failed to find touch, and while i didnt react to it last night, thinking back to it, i would have been even more shocked whent he chiefs then kicked it back instead of keeping possesion, and if that wasnt bad enough, they didnt kick it out for touch, WTF??? o_O
spome heart attack stuff if u werent off ur head.

On reflection I am am behaving like the typical spoilt fan.
The fact is the Chiefs won ! They were the best team this year & they showed heart & maturity to get a win.
Fans, including me should take the time to celebrate & thank the Chiefs. We should all sing a chorus of : We are the CHAMPIONS!! Well done boys!!
