Dyantyi who had a 5 metre start was hauled in by Aphelele Fassi with consummate ease. This was a kind of Ngwenya vs Habana moment when the imported USA flier rounded the supposed fastest man in rugby. I don't think Bryan totally trusted his pace ever again.....will Dyantyi lose a bit of confidence after this incident? Certainly the myth is a little tarnished.

The Ngwenya incident was overrated. Habana had to stand flat and then turn. Neither players were the fastest in the world analyse. Chavangha and Caucanibuca were some who were faster.

Speed is a great asset to have, but without the rugby bring it's all but useless. Take Mvovo and Nokwe as good examples. I'll take Dyantyi any day of the week.

Noticed the same thing Moz.

Put it down to him possibly having a niggle.

BB easily kept up with him a couple of weeks ago too.

He probably looks faster than he is.

Barrett is touted as being 10.2 seconds over 100m. For Dyantyi to be anywhere near that speed is not a bad thing.

10.2?

I doubt that.

Source?

Augie I rate Dyantyi highly, but he is a stepper with a quick rugby brain rather than an out and out pace merchant. A bit like Campesi. Chavanga was probably the fastest player to wear a Bok jersey.

I've heard that from several New Zealanders, a coupl e involved with the game. I doubt he is literally that fast, but he is exceptionally quick. He is often one of the fastest two players on the field. The other being Ioane.

Chavangha was definitely the fastest Bok winger I ever saw. One of the fastest players I have ever seen full st op. That said Dyantyi is no slouch.

BB is fast, I just had Dyanti one step ahead of him in pace terms.

But they look about dead even.

Dayimani is the fastest in SA right now...I think.

When will they wake up and put Dayimani on the wing!!!!!! Meanwhile he rots away on the Lions bench as a loose forward. He has superb footwork, he has decent size and would be a huge asset i n the backline.
