 Halfpenny the most overrated player, said what I think of him before.

Agreed Shezza, he adds nothing with ball in hand. Most of the test 15's are better than him........Willie, Dagg, Folau, Brown, Foden, Kearney and Hogg are all better

disagree regarding halfpenny, IMO the dude is world class.
2013 six nations player of the series, a man of the match performance in the lions vs wallys 3rd test, theres a reason why the little wlesh pocket rocket was nominated ofr a player of the year award.

 There aren't many quality fullbacks in the current generation. Le Roux failed under scrutiny earlier in the year but was reasonable under on the EOYT. He was under practically no pressure whatsoever throughout the tour up north. I was surprised, though none of the northern hemisphere sides I saw troubled any of the southern giant's back three. That said, Folau was a spectacular failure from all but the EOYT where, like Le Roux, he was never tested. I can say with complete certainty that halfpenny is without equal. There's him, then the rest. For the Boks, Kirchner was the better fullback and his link work with the wings and JJ was very important for the Boks. Kirchner at fullback, with Le Roux on the wing gives the Boks far more bite. Pietersen offers practically nothing when compared to Le Roux. Dagg? Blows hot and cold, a bit of a Percy in his early years. Form has been a big issue. He is a full out attacker with many other deficiencies. But then, as stated, not many quality fullbacks in this generation, so he makes the list regardless.

ST I thought Kearney had a really superb game against NZ.....man was he committed under the high ball. Halfpenny and Morne are probably the two best goal kickers on the planet, and Halfpenny is a true fullback in the classical sense.....but Kearney gets my vote.

 Kirchner better than Willie Le Roux!!! Hilarious!Meyer has got his back three right. Habana, JP and Le Roux. If some one better arrives on the scene we change.

 Halfpenny offers as little as Kirchner on attack, he is a conservative player and because he has an added dimension on his game (goalkicking) everyone's loving him. Also just because he's small and everyone expects less of his tackling,  when he does make an ordinary tackle everyone thinks it's of a high quality.

Mozart, you are quite right! I had recounted Kearny several times in the past two months, he completely slipped my mind on this list. So to set the record straight, it's Kearny and Halfpenny. These two men are far and away the best fullbacks in test rugy.

Beeno, Le Roux, when under Southern Hemisphere pressure, cannot cope in the position. On the EOYT he was under no pressure whatsoever, never tested. He rarely joined the line and his only real trick was the chip. It's a nice string to his bow, but was one of the reasons why the Boks lacked the same attacking power as the Rugby championship. Kirchner creates alot of opportunities, as seen by his annual assist rate in Super rugby and this year for the Boks. He gets a very raw deal purely because he is a Bull. I saw more mistakes from Le Roux in the first three games then I have in all the years I have seen Kirchner play. If you don't rate Kirchner, then to maintain consistency and credibility, you must place Le Roux beneath that marker. Take note how JJ made Kirchner's defensive duties all the more difficult by being no more than a light breeze in the tackle. A back three of Kirchner, Habana and Le Roux is the best I have seen since Monty, Jean and Paulse in 2004.

but i shouldnt be too surprised to find u hanging on my every word, but i am none the less a little embarrassed and disgusted to see u world get flipped upside down so easily cos of what i might have to say.

most of the players ive selected in mozters top 5 threads have been based only on international tests in 2013.
le roux has started at 15 for the Boks against
france ranked 5th
scotland ranked 9th
pumas ranked 10th
pumas ranked 10th
samoa ranked 7th
scotland ranked 11th
italy ranked 13th
willie came on in the 20th minute vs wales ranked 6th and played at FB.
(rank of teams is what it was when the Boks played them)

when u see the teams that willie played against at fullback, its not unreasonable to say that he hasnt been properly tested, cos IMO he hasnt.
the only two teams of note on that list are france and wales and none of them were even in the top 4 teams thanks to the Boks 2013 minnow fixtures diet.
wait a minute, i forgot to include scotland in top tier teams the Boks faced my bad, i always forget the rugby exchange rate.
scotland in the Boks eyes = a formidable team who can beat the Boks on their day
scotland in the All Blacks eyes =  meh

le rouxs attack is decent by kiwi standards or as most saffas think orgasmically beautiful beyond comprehension, but willies main problem is his defence which is kak.

i do, it was against the All Blacks in the now NZ owned ellis park where willie missed all 5 of his tackles against the All Blacks for a 100% tackle failure rate.
now imagine if he was the fullback.

i guess meyer isnt that dumb after all, he understands that willie still has ample room to grow, but i just dont agree with the current mainly minnow diet.

and thats why i rate others including those not on the list like kearny above le roux.
