We played 4 teams who were a real challenge….lost to one, beat three others by a total of 3 points.  Lost to Ireland by 5 points. So cumulatively we lost to those top 4 teams by 2 points.

That despite having a net 30 minutes more against 14 men

Which makes the adjusted score minus 10….case closed. But do watch your blood pressure Dave.

"If" Marx had played, the Bok lineouts would have been much better.

Bongi's used to have a thrown that was better than Marx, but this has declined in recent years.
So, the lineout was poor in the quarters, semi's and especially the final with Fourie.

I am pretty certain that if the Bok lineout had functioned against the All Blacks like it usually does, at least one try would have been scored by a rolling maul- as well as more penaltes in a kickable range.

The terrirotiral domination in the 1st half should have been enough to put an extra 10 points against the All Blacks.

Something to consder is that the conditions the Boks played in the semi and final favoured more of a 10-man rugby game. Going wide in these types of conditions can lead to errors.

Suck it up Moz you are making your name mud Here is a little note for you - you only need to win a game by 1 point to actually WIN the game Are you under the impression that cumulative winning margins actually count for something? You are starting to sound like Doos Don’t go there Moz, I know you are hurting that Rassie has completely proved you wrong but trying to devalue the victory is just embarrassing

People say the Boks lose lots of games, but so do the other top ranked teams. The Boks are winnng enough to be ranked number 1 in the world, in addition to the world cup.

The loss of  out #1 hooker certianly gave the opposing sides a better chance of knocing the Boks out in the semi's and final.

Hats off to the Boks for ploughing through and winning under those circumstances.

I am not a Fourie fan but he played extremly well in replacing Bongi even if he was overmatched (in weight and height) and his lineout work was something else.

A great performance none the less.

Yes Fourie did a job a good enough one to win it but there is no doubt that his presence negated our potential scrum dominance with NZ only having 14 men With a real hooker we would have eventually squeezed the NZ pack into submission and scored more points in the process

Not sure how that maths work Moz, the World Cup or any comp is not counted on net score rate like cricket. It is knock-out rugby.

Winning by 1 point in 3 games have knocked years off my life, that I can't be happy about. But 2 world cups in a row, not sexy. We WON!!! The All Blacks had a chance to win it twice and looked dangerous with ball in hand. We knew it was going to be defence against attack

On Deon, don't forget that Whitelock and Brodie are one of the best line out players and competed against Matfield back in the day. It was always going to be hard to win all line outs. Fourie lost 4 out of 10, not the best, neither the worse.

Still, he also add a ton of value over the park.

The bench and squad was well managed. The guys didn't perform 100% through out. Sore and tired bodies. The only player that had an amazing was Pieter Steph, played every minute in the knock out and never looked like fading in the final. Wish the rest of our players had his engine, especially his size.

Man, those hits of his were massive

Ugly Great win, Bokke!!!

Moz is hurting - he hates the fact Rassie has proved him so wrong and that there is no coming back from Rassie’s amazing record of 7 to 1, a RC, a Lions series and TWO WC’s and back to number 1 Rassie you genius Best Bok coach ever - by a country mile Hardest route to winning that WC ever - take a bow Rassie - Rassie for president with Kolisi as his vice
