There was a major improvement in the performances of the All Blacks. They counter-attacked very well when the French made mistakes and that is a sign that mistakes - especially handling errors should be avoided by all means against them.
The fact that they had Sam Whitelock - the only really good line out lock in New Zealand available made a huge difference to their line-out performances. There backline functioned better than the previous week and Dagg showed more as well - The weak link remains Conrad Smith and I think it is time to start with Ranger and use Smith as an impact player from the bench - instead of other way around.
Amongts their forwards there are still problems with their props and although Reid had one good ball carry - he still tends to give away penalties and did not show much else in the game. Messam was insignificant and Cane rather quiet.
Hansen should be quite happy with the side and is unlikely to make changes, maybe -
* bringing in Carter to give him some test game time before the Championship tests;
* Bring Vito in the starting line -up and put Messam on the bench; and
* select Ranger at 13 and use Smith on the bench
I do not expect other changes for the third test - so let wait and see what happens.
