Ex Bok coach Pieter de Villiers will not be supporting the Springboks at RWC2019.
You can read the full story here.
Twakkie has a problem with the inclusion of Eben Etzebeth in the squad, after the allegations of assault and racism were levelled against Etzebeth shortly before the squad departed.
Twakkie makes the point that when the England cricket team were faced with a similar situation after the Ben Stokes incident, they immediately suspended the player, Stokes missed the tour and was only available for selection after he had been through the judicial process. SARugby simply took Etzebeth's word and hurriedly flew him off to Japan.
"I take allegations of racism personally because if you use racist words against the average man in the street then you can easily use it against me as well. By simply accepting Etzebeth’s word and not launching an investigation, SA Rugby missed an opportunity to show that they are serious about stamping out racism. I therefore cannot support the Springboks at this year’s World Cup."
Now before the Eben groupies start shrieking how Rooinek hates Etzebeth, don't shoot the messenger, but note that as an ex-Springbok coach and a coloured, Twakkie is representative of the coloured rugby community and one wonders how many others like him feel the same way.
Having a player of Etzebeth's quality in the squad is obviously good for the Bokke in the short term but time will tell whether it was a wise decision in the long term as his inclusion is clearly alienating a large section of the country.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a decline in Etzebeth's play.

He knows he crossed the line ... and he knows that the issue will be waiting for him when he returns.

That could mess with his head.

Maybe Twakkie should go puke with Luke Watson. No wonder nobody wants to hire him. This man takes no responsibility for his own actions.

He was never going to support the Springboks. This is just an angle to build some appeared credence. He never supported the 2015 team because not enough players of colour were included. Now he needs something new.
This is an allegation, and according to democratic law - everyone is innocent until proven guilty- the benefit of the doubt.
It is racist to assume that someone is guilty because they are white.
It may well be that Eztebeth is guilty, but there has been no evidence of the sort yet. It might just have been someone that Eztebeth was with, or nothing may have happened. Ideally, some type of court decision could be taken before the world cup.

Eben was interviewed by the Human Rights Commission.  If there was anything to this allegation, he would not have been in Japan. If there were any evidence, it would have surfaced by now.

The Stokes case was different.  There was video footage. If SA Rugby start to take baseless allegations seriously and started suspending players on allegations only, what's to stop Bok haters from sabotaging the team with false accusations all the time? There is obviously more to the story than what was reported...and going on some of the statements made by some of his accusers on social media, Eben and his friends might have been the victims of hate speach and bigotry, rather than the other way around.

At the risk of offending about half the posters on this forum, I really couldn't give a flying toss what you Yanks, Poms and other ex-pats think about this situation. You lot don't understand or care about what's happening in South Africa or the issues we have to deal with.
I know I'm generalising here but most ex-pats I know have very little interest in South Africa other than family they may have left behind, the Proteas and the Springboks . . . and in fact you like reading and hearing about the crime, corruption, BEE, state of the rand and other negative stories about South Africa because it makes you feel good about yourselves and validates your leaving.
Of course you lot are all going to support Etzebeth and rubbish Twakkie . . . you just want the Bokke to win the RWC and you couldn't give a flying fig leaf about longer term things like unity and nation-building.
This has nothing at all to do with how crap a coach Pieter de Villiers was or what kind of human being he is, not even the most dull-witted among you can deny he speaks for the coloured rugby-loving community in South Africa and he makes a valid point about the difference between the way a first world country like the UK handled a difficult and sensitive situation and the way South Africa did.
As a real South African born here, still living here and having to deal with xenophobic violence, racism, crime, corruption and a junk-status economy, I'm concerned that SARugby chose to quickly get Eben Etzebeth onto the plance to Japan instead of taking the allegations seriously and subjecting him to same kind of legal procedures that people like Penny Sparrow, Adam Catzevelos and Vicki Momberg had to endure. He shouldn't be exempt just because he's a high profile rugby player.
If you disagree and you're an ex-pat, tell it to the loser sitting next to you in the pub in whatever cold, dark and unfriendly city you're living in . . . I don't really care what you think. There are issues that us South Africans have to deal with that are bigger than a Rugby World Cup.

So for the purposes of nation-building, Eztebeth should be treated as if he was guilty. One white person should take the bullet so the others can be treated more fairly. Is this really nation-building, or just throwing someone under the bus so that it might make your own life a bit easier
More and more white people leave each day, because nation-building seems to be at their expense.
I have heard this stuff before, that people who have left SA - should not comment on the issues. So SA people living overseas should no longer be South African for the purposes of nation-building.
Many people that live overseas, harboured ambitions to one day return. However, for the sake of nation-building they have no future in SA, and cant return even if they wanted to.
If it does get to a point where all white people leave SA, is everyone still banned from talking about South Africa for the purposes of nation-building?
Living in a cold country telling the story to someone in a pub is also a sacrifice, so it is not just people living in SA that are feeling the effects. Some people in SA could have left already, but did not want to leave a nice warm country to live somewhere that is freezing.
Many of the Bok team also live overseas as well, so maybe we can have our own Springbok team that is chosen on merit, and the SA based Bok team can be filled with quotas for the purposes of nation-building. with Pdivvy your coach for strategic transformation objectives, and BEE credits .
Pdivvy is bitter because no one wants to hire him. He blames white people for this- but his real issue is that his media comments sound like a half-wit than will damage the brand of any rugby organisation

1.Horse manure! How stupid are you? So he speaks for ghe coloured rugga fans in South Africa? Is that yhe Bok supporting "cullerts" or the Cape Alblacks Supporters?...and he is a spokesman for this community because he is "coloured himself? Hell, to me that's a kinda racist statement, but you obviously didn't meant it like that.

2. A valid point? So first world countries infringes on the rights of their employees on the back of baseless accusations? If there were any substance to this, he should have been charged already...like Stokes were....immediately.  Spot the difference?

Discernment is a bitch if you don't have it, nè? You can't fix stupid, not even with good grammar.

Sharkbok, please correct me if I'm wrong but you're a chicken-runner living in the UK, right?
If so, please revisit the part of my post where I specifically said I don't give a flying toss what you ex-pats think about this particular situation.
If not, accept my apologies and tell me where you do live in SA.

@Rooineck,
I want the Boks to win. Your nation-building is irrelevant to me, as is what you care or careless about.
However, it is clear the affirmative action crew has made you their squealing bitch. You now support the transformation objectives because it makes your life a bit easier. It seems Cleancutt was right about you, and where your true alliance lies. The new Luke Watson.

A chicken runner was someone that left just after Apartheid ended with lots of money or converted their rands to a foreign currency to help crash the rand currency. You either do not know this, or are just being obtuse.
I left at 23 years of age, in 2001 with no money.
Older white people at the time we're telling the younger people to leave.  The true benefactors of Apartheid agreed to train black people to take over jobs for promotions, bonuses and golden handshake to bring in reverse Apartheid.
The older whites that agreed to end Apartheid, once they had established themselves and gotten work experience to support themselves.... The benefactors of Apartheid, and sell-out's to transformation, now complaining about how bad they have made SA....

First and foremost this is a rugby blog. There are other sites, or even the Trumpet for pushing a political agenda.

It is the world cup and I want the Boks to win, and I am tired of hearing your moaning-  it is of no relevance to me. If the Boks win, and this makes life harder for you- so be it....

I assume you want the Total Ra nkers World Cup competition to give extra transformation points...

I told you all that rooitwit called me a Nazi when I supported merit selection and he supported quotas.

He was also all for affirmative action until his son lost out on a job. Then the flip flopper was furious.

Bet he was also mortified when Mallet won against Ashwin Willemse.

If thete was any evidence against Eben re racism he would have been a gonner.

Snorre was a quota coach. Nobobody wants the halfwit. He now has a huge chip on his shoulder of rooitwit proportions and reckons its time to play the race card to get some needed attention.

I very much doubt De Villiers has any evidence re Eben doing anything wrong.

Rooitwit hates Eben and always has.

Hahahahahaha poor ou rooitwit. But please rooitwit how about answering how a universe created itself from nothing. You are clearly terrified of the question. The question however, truthfully answered, will lead you to a wonderful truth.

Nope, close, but not quite. "Those with antisocial personality disorder tend to lie, break laws, act impulsively and lack regard for their own safety or the safety of others. Symptoms may lessen with age"

It's getting worse by the day...and it's not just a disregard for others, it's a deliberate effort to p!ss people off....just to get a kick. Pathetic petulant child in the body of a 60 year old. He used to have a bit of dry wit and humor, now it's only bitter bile...WTH?

So, just to recap

In Piss Mint's world, if you are accused of something, you are prevented from doing what you normally do, until you have been through the entire legal process, to clear your name.

Your life, your playing career, endorsements, your earning potential..... are all put on hold, because someone accused you of something, and you must suffer the consequences of those accusations until you can prove that they are incorrect or lying...….. Wow

Imagine Piss Mint in some position of authority...….. luckily, as a low level IT technician, we don't have to worry about that happening.

So, when the world cup semi final is 2 days away, someone must just fabricate something terrible against a Springbok player, and accuse him of racist and vulgar behavior so that he can immediately be removed from that game, and not represent South Africa again until the issue has been fully investigated and resolved over a 3 week period......…...just as Piss Mint says he should.

Fucking laughable
