Really good news - so three three key injured players are on the way back - * Goosen - we desperately need a playing and attacking flyhalf; * Du Toit - we need a real partner for Etzebeth at lock; and * Malherbe - since our tight head position is problematic The above issues remains a problem at best. Morne had a 80% goal kick conversion rate - but there are still problems in his general performance. On Saturday he still kicked aimlessly - meaning it represents purely handing over possession to the opposition. His defence was iffy making 7 tackles and missing 2 and his general attacking play was never really in evidence during the game on Saturday. The question remains - should we have a player with questionable ability in so many facets of the game in the team - purely because he is a good goal kicker? The issue of line outs remains a problem - even though Mozart does not recognize that as a problem. The only reliable line out jumper we have is Etzebeth - we have nobody to back him up. On Saturday Etzebeth took 8 line out balls - with each of Vermeulen, Van der Merwe and Kruger taking 1. That means that the rolling maul situation is completely neutralized - since the opposition can concentrate their efforts against one player only - not having to concentrate on anybody else. There is still a problem with the tighthead and I think that Malherbe is by far a better tighthead than any of the others.in contention. Against the weak Australian scrum - the Springboks did very well. Even though the All Blacks also have more or less a crinkle paper scrum - it will not be too much of a problem on Saurday - but we can do much better by forgetting about Steenkamp - play Oosthuizen as backup for Beast and Malherbe as back up for Du Plessis.

Maaikie, Maaikie, Maaikie. Have you decided to ignore the posibility that Etzebeth took 8 line-out balls, against the one each of the rest,  mainly because the ball was thrown at himn in the line-outs. You say that it cost us rolling maul opportunity.

Have you considered the posibilty that the Boks decided to limit the rolling mauls for a reason? I am not going to spread this as gospel truth, but I noticed that we did not use the rolling maul, from the line-outs, a lot. Could it be that the Boks noticed that the Aussies were making a lot of noise as to how the "predictable" Boks would be doing their "predictable" rolling mauls again the entire game, and then decided to surprise them? Just asking. I could be wrong.

And I thought Carter was injury prone ... he has nothing on Goosen.

You just look at him sternly and he goes off limping.

Just too damn fragile.

I thought Kruger made an impressive difference when he came on.

Really enjoyed the "slower than a prop" Alberts this weekend. What a powerful man.

The way Elgar Watts has been fitting in at the Cheetahs, Goosen will be having a battle on his hands in any case.

Goosen could tie his hands behind his back and he would still get in ahead of the average Watts......he scored a nice little try but for most of the time he looks awkward and out of his depth

If you tie Goosen's hands behind his back, you will dislocate both his weak shoulders................ again.

Ceradyne The Springboks had no option - but to throw the ball to Etzebeth - the other three mentioned are just not reliable line out jumpers. Even on Super 15 level they could not compete for line out balls and in the Mendoza test Kruger was putrid. To assume that they had other options is ridiculous in the extreme. Do you ever watch CC rugby? Watts is the best of a bad lot of flyhalfs the Cheetahs got - their backline has gone dead in CC because of poor link play - so what are you talking about?

Even on Super 15 level they could not compete for line out balls and in the Mendoza test Kruger was putrid. To assume that they had other options is ridiculous in the extreme.

I am not even going to argue about your take on the flyhalves. You have already proven that you are dof when it comes to that. However, since this you brought in the line-out issues, I would like to help you out on this one as well. Just like I helped you with the Stade Francais game. Of course I suspect that you will have your own version of the truth on tjis as well. This is where the South Africans endede up on the list of line-out winners listat the end of the S15:

Most Lineouts Won 1. Ben Mowen (Brumbies) 91 2. Franco van der Merwe (Sharks) 71 3. Juandre Kruger (Bulls) 68 4. Jeremy Thrush (Hurricanes) 61 4. Rob Simmons (Reds) 61 6. Sam Whitelock (Crusaders) 60 7. Andries Bekker (Stormers) 59 8. David Dennis (Waratahs) 56 8. Eben Etzebeth (Stormers) 56 10. Flip van der Merwe (Bulls) 54 11. De Kock Steenkamp (Stormers) 53 12. Brodie Retallick (Chiefs) 52 13. Scott Higginbotham (Rebels) 48 14. Pieter Labuschagne (Cheetahs) 47 15. Ali Williams (Blues) 44 15. David Bulbring (Kings) 44 15. Victor Vito (Hurricanes) 44 18. Lodewyk de Jager (Cheetahs) 43 19. Sam Wykes (Force) 42 19. Toby Lynn (Force) 42

As you can see, Juandre Kruger ended up in third spot on 68 and Etzebeth only came in at no 8. Even ou "useless " flip vd Merwe won more line-outs than Etzebeth. In Mendoza, bith Kruger and Etzebeth won 3/3 and Flip won 2/2.

Ceradyne With respect - on which stats is the list of line out takes based? I have checked 3 different sources and the number of line out takes by players is vastly different from the above. info provided by you. According to ESPN and Testrugby the line out takes per game played was as follows:- * Etzebeth - 6 line out takes per game played * De Jager - 6 line out takes per game played * Kruger - 4 line out takes per game played * Van der Merwe - 4 line out takes per game played. Frankly I do not know on what the above figures are based? I do not understand how both ESPN and Test Rugby can credit De Jager with 102 and 94 line out takes and the above figure shows him taking considerably less than half that number - while inflating the figures of both Van der Merwe and Kruger by between 5 and 10% respectively? If you are prepared to find any basis to support the above figures - I will be delighted to get the proof of what you are saying. In the meantime I think you are busy spreading your normal crap.

Franco Van Der Merve is proving his crtitics wrong ranked anumber2, and it is obvious why Meyer selected him as a back up lock in the past.

Twatbok we know you are thick but just in case you missed the obvious........line-out jumping is not the mark of a test lock..............catch a bloody wake up........the word obvious springs to mind.

One would hardly associate Flip as a line out jumper and he is sitting at 10 on the list........what does that tell you about line-out stats and the picture they paint dumbass

Wrong again Fat Dave.

Lineout jumping is actually a core function of a lock, along with tacking kick offs and locking the scrum.

For the record who is "we?"

Is that you and your fat arse you speak about in the 3rd in person?

So Twatbok in your opinion because useless Fanco happened to take loads of line-out ball, that merited Meyer picking him as a back-up did it?

Fuck me you are one stupid prick. We all know Franco can take the odd line-out ball, no one has disputed his work in the line-outs. Its the rest of his game that is crap you ignorant twat. The man is hardly physical so adds little grunt to the engine room. One never sees him with ball in hand, or clearing out rucks or making tackles. The bloke is a bog ordinary lock who should never have smelt a Bok squad.

What's with the fat arse Twatbok, have you met me you lying twat?
