Two All Black lessons

Firstly the All Blacks of 2011 through 2015 never carelessly lost matches like we did against Australia. Which is why they remain the GOAT for most fans.

Secondly Australia today proved what an ordinary team the 2026 All Blacks are. We heard all the pundits like Keo and Zels gushing about our 3 to 1, mostly at home, victory. Australia today showed how to counter our three main weapons….they found space outside the rush defense, they dominated the high ball….Jurgenson was flawless and they cleverly kept their big scrumming weapon Tupou for when Ox was subbed on, neutralizing our scrum.

1.The Angle of the Hit (Ox vs. Tupou)

Even before the final collapse, Ox Nché and Malcolm Marx immediately targeted the gap between Tupou and his hooker. Nché’s low centre of gravity meant he was angling in heavily. Tupou never pushed Nché back; instead, Tupou was forced to scrum completely defensively, trying to avoid being folded in half or popped upwards.

2.Wilco Louw's Anchor.

On the other side, Wilco Louw acted as an immovable anvil. Angus Bell is a powerful loosehead, but he could not get any penetration or leverage against Louw. Because Louw anchored his side perfectly, Nché and Marx could relentlessly squeeze the Wallabies' tighthead side.
