Some time ago, I met a very pleasant fellow... he told me his son Marcel Coetzee went to my old school in Maritzburg College and played for the 1st XV and I was somewhat confused as indeed there was a Marcel Coetzee there that played but he played centre...he was there same time as Jesse Kriel and they played together.
However, I knew the Springbok loose forward (No8 and sometimes Flank) who played for the afrikaans school Port Natal in Durban...round about the same time as Natal Schools.
Now, I met his father again and he told me his son now is playing centre for Germany, and they beat Russia the other day...incidentally his son and Jesse Kriel are the best of mates. The old man is now involved in coaching at Maritzburg College.
