Firstly are you the real Luke Watson. Its not a good thing to use another persons name. An honest answer would be appreciated.

Next what do you think are realistic expectations for the team. We are expecting them to be wooden spoonests and to embarass SA rugby. What makes you think you can compete etc

can the southern kings embaress SA anymore than the lions already have??? o_O

and why is nothing said about the cheetahs, oh thats right since being reintegrated back into to super rugby, they finished with their highest  position on the ladder in 2012, 10th place. the cheetahs are my favourite SA team, but if they were a NZ team they would be a joke, SA acceptance of medicority is shocking IMO.

anyway leave the kings alone, they are a new team and while their intgration into spXV was dodgy, the lions didnt help themselves with shitty results the last 11 seasosn where they won the wooden spoon 5 times finished as one of the bottom two 4  times and in the bottom 3 twice.

"can the southern kings embaress SA anymore than the lions already have??? o_O"

A valid question in my not so humble opinion, I'm not saying I agree to their participation, with regards to the way they've been manouvered into the competition, and it's not their fault but yes the Lions were a foooking disgrace and for a damn long period to boot.

jallopy and snapster why should it be impossible that Luke is posting here?

Can you guarantee me its not Luke?

As for the CA  - please leave that out of the equation lest ou jallopy gets even greener with envy!

Anyhow I hope Luke answers my question regarding the queens.

saSUE in principle one earns one place at the table - the queens did not. I would not have a problem with their inclusion had they earned their spot.

@ben10,

rubbish, i dont believe that for one second, IMHO its the watsons involvment with the kings that have so many in SA (mainly the afrikaan cheering section) totaly against the kings. i really believe that if the watsons had no connection to the kings, than the majority might not like the way it was done but would all say the lions had no one to blame but themselves.

i mean jeebers, the lions knew that thier 2013 spXV life was on the line, but look at all the dirty laundry that was aired for the public to see, i mean OMG like their shocking record wasnt bad enough, but the inner squabbles cos a few players dont like being told how shit they were by mitchell ended up being played in court??? incompetence on every level and the kings coundlt do any worse than lions already have.

would love to make the kings my new favourite saffa team, if i wasnt such a die hard fan of both juan smith and oos du randt.

I admit their are a few people in South Africa especially amongst the afrikaaners that do not like me and therefore do not like the kings. Also people do not like the Kings because they liken our elevation to affirmative action whereby a black heritage means we have been given an oppertunity to develop by playing in the Super XV.

It is up to us to prove our distractors wrong. We are aiming to be in the top 4 ranked SA sides. This will ensure that we can get more local players into the team by next year and continue to rise up the ladder.

As for my own form, I am looking forward to having a good year and hope I can emulate the year when I was awared player of the year in the SuperXV. We are having a indaba meeting outside Nelson Mandela stadium to hand out posters and sign autographs, hope to see you all there.

Luke surely you cant think that coming in the top 4 is a realistic proposition. Avoiding the wooden spoon even looks unlikely! Prepare for some big hidings

Another issue is the use of black players. Where are they?

Another issue is that you are importing foreigners and have apparently signed up 4 even though the rules say you can only have two. Hoping that SARFU will change the rules.

Do you admit you guys used political connections to force your way in. You have to admit you didnt deserve to get in through merit. The Lions would have chewed you up in any encounter and so would Griguas etc.

No there is very little that is appealing about what has happened. Guys who cant get there on merit deserve to be left out. Away with all this racist affirmative action/Bee that is ruining the country. Let merit be the yardstick.

As to your identity well if you can convince ou Jalepeo you are home and dry!

Say Luke, What exactly have the Kings achieved to warrant promotion to the premier rugby competition in the southern hemisphere.....no need to answer, we all know that they've achieved diddly squat. And even though the Lions were a disgrace it's fair to say that the manner in which the Kings were appointed to the competition is a disgrace as well.

Beeno he said top 4 of the SA sides. That's a tall order, but they only have to be better than the Cheeters or the Bools to achieve that. Not likely, but not impossible either. A bit of luck here and there and they might do it.

Saf end Ringsting, chances are that LW is an impostor, I'd say there is maybe a 5% chance of him being the real deal. Irrespective of that is the issue raised by the poster going by the name of LW.

Sassi, I know that there is some animosity towards the Watsons in certain Afrikaner circles, some of it warranted and some not. As for myself, an Afrikaner and a sports lover the following: I supported Luke when he played for WP/Stormers and I think Jake missed a trick not picking him. When he eventually got picked, the whole thing was a farce and proved nothing about Luke as a player.

Lastly, and  I gather that I might be in the minority in SA, I will support the Kings and wish them well for next year. I also don't like the way that they have been promoted into the S15, but I think Rugby SA is not telling the complete story. Promises have been made and there is more to this issue than meets the eye. It is not as clear cut as the Lions and their kingpin, Keven de Klerk would have us believe.

Go KINGS!!!!

Please Denny lets not be too harsh on Luke - all he wants to do is play super 15 rugby and stick it to the nz oaks!!!

Remember the season of good will. It keeps slipping ones mind with ou poo bear getting all uptight and saSUE all sanctimonius! etc.

Luke appears a decent guy and we should not go overboard on the unfortunate queens story.
