I'm switching channels, when I discover rugby sevens, of all things on NBC. Turns out it's the Vegas stop and it made for some enjoyable watching. The first notable thing was the flying face swipe the small Frog tried to apply to our try scorer.....followed by his  knee in the kidneys manouvre on a subsequent try.

But I was most struck by a comment about "NZ" superstar, Tomasi Cama junior. It turns out his father Tomasi Cama senior has been coaching the Fijians on how to stop his son. Why you may ask? Well because Tomasi Cama senior used to be captain of the Fijian sevens.

So how come Cama is playing for NZ and not Fiji. Money would be my guess. There seem to be no practical constraints for NZ to pick the best talent out of the islands. As for the old brigade of NZ farmers who dominated the ABs of yore and who we competed with through the sixties.....they are no more.

...sounds like our team is'nt white enough for you - your team is'nt as white as it used to be either  lol...

NZ is a multicultural society with some schools having over 70 different nationalities represented and thats just the way the world is going if you have'nt noticed.

Tomasi Cama 's been playing in NZ for more than 10 years and representing NZ since 2005 so you're a bit slow with your complaint about him too.

You should also look at Australia and their immigration policy that actively targets former eastern block and other european sports champs meaning its harder to beat them at any sport but we dont complain we just get on with it..

South Africa versus NZ in the finals tonight  , just like old times ...

Not a complaint, just an observation. And my beef is not in any sense racial, it's locational. Any talented youngster from the islands is likely to find himself playing for a NZ team. This guy Cama should be playing for Fiji in an honest world.
