Mozart is so obsessed with age that he forgets about the above Championship.   So lets remind him of the following:-
100 meters (B)  -  South Africans won and came second200 meters  (B)  -  South Africans won and came second400 meters Hurdles (G)  -   South African won400 meters Hurdles (B)  -   South African won
Looks like athletics have a bright future in SA.

Mike, the under 18 World Champs has nothing to do with Moz's age argument. I'd be a little surprised to see any old athletes taking part in the under 18 World Champs.
In other words, you've made a fair post exposing the rest of us to SA's performance in the under 18 World Champs....but it is YOUR obsession with Moz that has included him in this discussion.

Mozart is so obsessed with older sportsmen of any code that he ignores something concerning younger sport participants.   He would start threads on anything reflecting victories of the elderly in any sport competition in the world - bu t nothing about event such as reflected under this thread.

Watered down field because of security concerns. No USA , United Kingdom, Russia, Japan, S Korea, Australia and several others.
For example, Anthony Schwartz (USA) set a new youth world record this year in 100m of 10.15. Winning time at the World Athletics Championship was 10.57 which would have tied for 7th in the race at Florida Relays where Anthony Schwartz set the WR.

China came second, bar the USA ,would be interesting if possibly the UK could have upset SA.That high jump of 2.24 from 1.72 Breyton Poole was phenomenal.
