Man, was hoping the bools and Saaarks would come right this weekend but it was not to be. The saaarks got hammered against a very week welsh scarlets team. Bools were frustrating, showed glimpses but also had two really harsh yellow cards.

Bools match tactics were wrong, they were two eager to spread it when they should be working in the pick up and drive. They are missing Marcel Coetzee. Where to now for Jake? This is the longest I’ve seen him stay at one team. Not sure how he will correct this given the money he has at his disposal.

Something is seriously wrong at the Saarks, maybe too soon to start the boks and maybe should have been on the bench and ease them in, but with a new coach who only knows 7s, one wonder whether they’ll ever get it right. But they have serious problems with team culture. Players don’t want to hang around. Fassi was looking for an exit to the stormers which I think would have been the right move.

As for the stormers, man, blommetjies messed up big time to not catch the ball. So did Hershel Jantjies, those two players alone cost the game as the stormers started really well but allowed Leinster to get back into the match. Willemse was invisible all game. Dan Du Plesis is proving to be a useful centre. Can cover both 12 and 13 and in the shape of his life. Willemse has not impressed me at 12 this season. Need to find form and a position that suits him. Ideally he should be at 10 and fight for the bok jumper.

Lions surprised me in the last 20 min and game back really well and showed great attacking rugby to beat Benneton. Really entertaining game to watch. So lions were our only winners this weekend.

Next week we shift to Heineken cup last 16. Curious to see the outcome

Good for the league on the whole that there is plenty to play for for most teams with just two rounds left.

The Bools were very much in this game. But they really don’t have a power pack….unable to handle the Ulster maul and vulnerable in the scrums. There best moments were attacking from broken play….but like all South African teams they are toothless in phase play.

This ref I think tried his best, but boy did he miss a lot….forward passes, the fetcher clearly on the ball and clearly having released, knock-ons at the base.

Jake is getting his selections wrong He could bulk up the pack by playing Klopper at 3 and Jacques du Plessis at 7 Also the lack of investment in Similane at 13 makes no sense given he has been in good form this season. Instead we see old farts Hendricks and Mapoe at centre The Bulls also lack clout at 10 - Smith is very average Kriel should be at 15 with Arendse on the wing

Unbelievable that the Sharks with the players they have in the organisation cannot perform.

Is it the players or what?

The Sharks have no coach - Plumtree will turn them around Powell has no experience in 15’s - doing a stop gap job and it shows

RG played from the bench over the weekend...almost didn't recognize him with the new hairstyle...even with the beard...fearsome Viking that one.
