Finally the penny dropped as Lion after Lion fumbled Jantjies last second hospital passes. Off he went and within minutes the Lions score. Poor Jantjies bumbled, dropped balls forward, hit playes with passes.....and got stepped out of his sokkies by Willie Le Roux for  a try.

Whoops another Lions try....their confidence soaring after Captain Calamity was subbed.

And to think some wanted him to play against NZ .....Griquas was too much.

But the Griquas respond....great try. Nice to see these journeymen playing their hearts out.

Mozart

Janthies was extremely poor in the game last night and initiated nothing of consequence and was even poor in ball handling.   Other than hospital passes he effectively neutralized the Lions backline - which showed some real spark after he was subbed.   Two tries within 3 minutes were scored by the Lions after he was subbed - bringing the Lions within three points of the Griquas - who prior to those triies led by 36-18.

I am always worried about Jantjie's defence - but last night also showed that he does not really contribute positively to effective backline play as well.   At one stage Jantjies tried to make a line break - was tackled and the Lions only benefit was handing over the ball to the Griquas. One of the commentators said that his fellow backline players and other players involved never knows what he is going to do and how he is going to play - hence the play becomes ineffective and they make mistakes.    That was very evident last night.

I never was a Jantjies fan - last night showed that he should never be in the Springbok squad at all - wonder whether Saffex saw that game and how he would react to that disastrous display?

Spot on clevermike....Jantjies is and always has been overated but don't rule him out as a transitional Bok.

Stranger things have happened...even Puke became a Bok.

Well I have been saying for a long time that he is nothing special. Which is why he has been ousted by Goosen at the first possible opportunity. He is just too up and down, and unreliable to be taken seriously.
