I am not surprized at all by the ne ws of Vermeulen moving off to Bath after expiry of his contract with th Stormers and the WC.   It must be borne in mind that he will be 30  years of age by then - and some real "pension money" would be most welcome for him.   He has at most 3 to 4 years rugby in him from date and is likely to signs a three year deal with Bath.  Good luck to the guy.

Very sad if it is true, but Mike you've nailed it, he is nearing the twilight of his career. Why not build up a bit of cash?

Howard off to Ireland and now Vermuelen going. Who is next. How does one mounyt a challange when quality players keep on leaving.Of course good luck to Duane he deserves to be able to cash in.Stormers loose trio Carr, Burger and Elstadt - not too bad. Rhodes and Kolisi as back ups - plus that black oke.

Sam Burgess is meant to be playing 8 isn't he? If this rumour holds any weight then he could be playing 6,7 or in he centers.

Who knows where he will play or if he will even be remotely good at Union in the first place.
No-one disputes the fact that he us a very good League player, and a very tough young man, but it is not certain he will be any use at Union nor should he be able to cross codes.
Never agreed with it, won't start now. It is nothing personal.

Well if it's true cannot blame him or other 5 star players...afterall they are normal human beings that have their priorities in this ugly consumerism world....playing for your country is one thing but looking after your family ,loved ones and future is another. Cannot blame any player...the days of patriotism to a country and governments that care zilch for the individual are well and truly buried. SA authorities are lowlife ,manipulating and selfish bodies that turn their hypocritical finger to those who have their values and priorities right. Good luck Duane and we wish you well...on the present system we can still recall you in international matters
