But one of their most important players, Duane Vermeulen, who led the team well in the absence of Jean de Villiers in Brisbane, is on his way home with a leg injury and it is rumoured that he may be ruled out for three months.

If that is the case it will be a significant blow to the Stormers as it is around the No 8 that so much of the physical aspect of their game revolves.

It may in fact be fatal although Burger will be back and could play 8. Looks like we may not see the full power pack in action this season. That would be a huge disappointment. Folk need to get the vision. It would also get Meyer going in the right direction.

Hope this is just a rumlour and Vemulen gets back fast.

That would be a huge body blow to the Stormers. The way I see it, the Crusties are the only threat to the Stormers chances of winning S15, without physicality it's good night Sarah for the Stormers.

Agree but with Schalk at 8 and Elsatdt at 7 we are still well positioned provided Etzebeth and Bekker are at lock. Trouble is the back up then gets thin.

I really was hoping Vermulen could make the Boks - he has really earned a shot.

Vermeulen is heading in the right direction, I'm not entirely sure whether he's ready to wear the Bok jumer as yet....maybe another year of experience might mature him and add to his smarts. Rush  him and the responsibilty might choke him like we saw with Louw.
