Frans had another outstanding game today....he is showing great leadership and brawn. The card, was a total crock....look at the incident again and you will see a Blues player flying in off his feet, ending on our side of the ball. Fran's had perfect position over the ball until that happened. One of many bent decisions from this ref....I had to laugh when the Blues players found fault with his decisions...apparently not bent enough.
Bismarck was massive today at the breakdown, with his vaunted upper body strength in evidence.
Victor showed every bit of his craft in the Brumbies rout....you had to love his gliding run and superb dummy.
And hats off to Jordaan, he had few attacking chances....but took on the task of stopping Nonu, no easy assignment. I have been critical of his tackling in the past, but today he was a wall. Yes Nonu barged through him once, but he stopped him dead several times....JJ should take notes.
Reinach was good and bad, like last week. But his kicking is a weakness he has to correct.
Less impressive showings came from Mvovo and the Bools centres. Yes Serfontein beat a tackle or two and was involved in the Bools scoring. But his miss on Speight was the kind of tackle a Bok centre just has to make...but he was well beaten on the outside.
As for JJ he played the part of Speights handbag for about 20 of his 90 odd metres. And on attack he was invisible making the wrong choice on several occasions. The invisible man. His stats say 14 tackles made....but how many metres lost in the tackle and how many offloads?
Also impressive were Willemse, Greyling, the Beast....less impressive du Plessis, Botes.
