Matfield says that he is in good condition and would be available for the Boks in the event of injuries to cover lock.

I remember when he took two lineout balls off media darling Dud Toit and then patted him on the head. All the evidence one needed that one was an all time great at 5 and the other a small lock now playing loosie.

Very funny , Looks like a pretty good AI render.

I remember the 2014 season, Jake was coaching the Sharks. He setup so many ploys for Steph, but he often fumbled or made mistakes. I knew then that Steph was no great lock. Stephan Lewis was the man.

Victor could have played another four years, and still have been better than Lood and Steph.

I'll have to phone Meyer Bosman's mom to confirm.

Mayfield worst lock ever to play for Boks.

Victor doesn't always play in the backline said the long suffering Great Bakkies Botha.

A 103 kg weakling. So light his probs could toss him into the air like a tennis ball.

Bwahahahaha. Ou Victor was a great though. A great con artist.

No oaks Bakkies and Eben are great lo cks. Wee matfiled is a joke and the joke is on you.

Matfield is 46 now and playing would injure the man….I would use him as a line out consultant, it wouldn’t hurt.

"I would use him as a line out consultant, "

I won't, his ego will always be in the way...

Having a lock along the tramlines isn't playing in the backline. It's giving the backs out wide some muscle. Steph does this too, and that was especially so during the times when you said he was better than Matfield! However, that's not all Matfield did. He was a tough player, so much so that Henry accused him of concealing a metal plate in his arm wrapping.

Some muscle out wide. Oh my aching sides. Hahahahahahaha.

Well might Henry query this Deus. How else could pap matfiled make an impression. Be guided on this matter by Bakkies

Matfield who saved our 07 WC with a brilliant goal line tackle, ripping the Pom center back from the line. It’s a pity they never asked Victor to teach Dud Toit lineout play, that way he could have been a useful reserve lock vs a useless flank.
