Some weeks ago Pakie and i said we'd download the Bok games and see if we could could get some votes for which parts people would like edited into a short vid for review.

Have zero clue about categories. We initially wanted to present some categories and then edit the ones with the most votes.

This game was pretty bland and there were no grave errors, silly calls or huge surprises.

So lets see if we can come up with a few things people would like to discuss.

Seems based on the player ratings that Esterhuizen's contribution will be debated.

I'm also a bit miffed at Mike only commenting that all Faf did was "Throw a few passes nowhere" while totally failing to mention anything positive that he did.

Any ideas on what you guys would like to see?

Let me know in this thread and by tomorrow evening maybe we'll have narrowed it down. It'll take me a day or two to get the video ready.

If there's sufficient response then i'll go ahea d with the video. Will be a nice warm up for the Oz and Kiwi games.

Plum you might analyse the 3 Bargie tries. There is a member who blames 2 of those tries on Louw. My take is a bit different: 1 The first try came from a penalty to the Beast. From the ensuing ruck a second penalty was awarded for collapsing. Louw stopped the first receiver who was driven back...but Sanchez sent a high ball, which Willie botched. He never jumped forward allowing the Bargie to assume the space. The Boks defended a few close drives but over committed. When the ball came out Etzebeth was the defender who was 'on Sanchez'....but his path was impeded by 2 Bargie dummy runners, who were close to obstructing. Louw was further out and Dyantyi was coming across in cover. Dyantyi could probably have got there....but assumed Sanchez was covered and continued to run across to help with the overlap Louw was defending. Was the try Louw's fault? 2 The second Bargie try came as Kolisi made metres down the wing, but there was nobody to pick up the placed ball, but the Bargies. They came way with Malherbe between the passer and Matera the try scorer. But Malherbe explicably jumped up to prevent a non pass and then does his usual bellyflop. Louw and Esterhosen chase without hope of getting there. Louw tries the only available thing....an ankle tap from 2 metres behind. But doesn't make contact. Was that Louw'sfault. 3 Willemse is on.....and with the game safely won throws a long, poor pass which van Staaden can only touch. The Bargies race through for an intercept try. Potentially snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Was that Louw's fault? These tries were the rub of the green, but to the extent you want to blame.....try one the most guilty party was Willie....try 2 Malherbe's belly flop gets my vote.....try 3 Willemse is obviously to blame. But that's just me, perhaps you can throw some light on this.

On the positive side all of the ABs tries against the Ozzies were good but these can be seen in videos that are already available.
So, I would like to see some analysis of the try Naholo scored when Barrett did a cross field kick - was Naholo in front? The play starts at the 72.27 minute mark.
I am also interested in how Poco ck was contained in this game.

Mozart

The above excuses is laughable and outright BS,   In the case of the Sanchez try Louw was less than 2 meters to the outside of Sanchez when he broke to the inside of him and scored,

Matera was to the outside of Louw near the sideline when Matera ran past him  and the so- called chase was farcical and never successful.  For a blindside loosie running away from a so-called opensider and a center - blaas my siel.

You know you write prejudiced junk on site and Louw fully deserve the criticism I wrote elsewhere.  I know you would try to cover up the two cases.   I can only think about the book you have written if Du Toit was involved.

Liar you are and liar you always will be.

Wrong.....Louw was lined up on the left upright, Sanchez outside the right upright. Louwstarted out moving left to cover the players outside him. But corrected when he saw Sanchez wasn't going to be tackled and got to within two steps as Sanchez crossed the line. Wrong also on the Matera try.....Matera never ran past Louw, although he did run past your man Malherbe who tripped over his own feet. Louw was two steps inside him and a step behind. His attempted ankle tap was the intelligent thing to do, he had no better chance to stop Matera than Esterhozen. Is that all the arguments you have...how pathetically biased. It bears no resemblance to Youngs bamboozling Stephanie twice, when Stephanie was directly lined up on Youngs and bit both times on the dummy.

Was your BS about Du Toit in the London test not the same.   It was - for Du Toit it was all out attack by you - in the case of Louw - who was definitely bamboozled by Sanchez - a string of excuses is invented,

Listen sheister - if Du Toit was in the position Louw was - your screams against him would have been heard a thousand miles away.

As to Louw - he is too pace-deficient to be an openside flank and that is a fact.  Was he not the supposed strong ball carrier and defender you made him out to be.  Where were those qualities yesterday?   Nowhere is sight in fact.   His tackle record yesterday was poor - very poor in fact - and he was no strong ball carrier either,     . Go and check the ESPN stats if you disagree.

By the way why was Louw the loosie replaced at minute 63 if he really was effective at all?   I would start with Van Staden in the away test - at least he would be productive and more effective.

Louw was pretty physical clearing rucks in that first half. He was very busy in general. The one who was nowhere to be seen was Kolisi. He was very invisible. Next was Am. Though he did have a nice little spell. So far, first half. Louw was very prominent. The Bok loose forwards dominated the Pumas overall. Louw was by far the most active Bok loose forwards. At no point was he too slow. None. Second half still to go, but thus far, Clever Mike was completely wrong. It's better not to write a script before the game, let the footage write it for you. Easier and less tiresome.

Ok, so all the tries are edited into a very nice little package.

Next...looks like I'll be clipping all Louw's involvement into section two of the vid.

Aug, since you're new and have been contributing so much, would you like to choo se category three?

If you'd like then maybe it can tie up with something  in your write up. Up to you man.

For the Sanchez try, the Argies had too many options and there was too much space. The t ry was going to be scored no matter who the defenders were. This is plain to see when noting how many Bok defenders were running behind the try line trying to get into a position to defend. Also, if anything, it was Etzebeth's tackle to make, but he was impeded by two Argie players.

For the Montera try it was just poor defense all round. Probably the player most guilty was Pollard. His miss created the space needed by the Argies. Malherbe appeared to trip over his own feet and Louw was too slow to react and cover. For me the allocation of blame would be 50% Pollard, 30% Malherbe and 20% Louw.

3rd Argie try, kak pass by Willemse. End of discussion.

Doubt Etzebeth would have been able to cut Sanchez off. Might have herded him a little closer to Louw, but that's about it.

On the front angle replay Malherbe didn't look like he ever got close enough to make a tackle, trip or no trip. Not a very mobile bloke.

Fair comments Blue.

Pakie I don't think Malherbe had to make the tackle, just stay on his feet a few more steps cutting off the passing lane. The passer was going to be stopped by Mapimpi a few steps on, which would have arrested momentum. Malherbe is a very slow bloke.....but he could have stayed in range for 3 or 4 steps. My hypothesis is Malherbe doesn't bellyflop there is no try.....grist for your video mill.

Hahahahaha! Go to 1.16 on the video, and then keep a close eye on Malherbe. Then watch it until 1.22 again, and again, and again. Its gets funnier and funnier the more times you watch it.
He looks like the fat coordless kid that always gets picked last at school.

A bit embarrassing. What we aren't processing is the Bargie scrum is now a bit of a disaster. The Lions destroyed close to the same pack in the scrums. Granted Botta their loosehead against the Lions was on the bench not starting, but Chaparro Malherbe's opponent was also destroyed in that game. Malherbe kept his feet in the scrums, but frankly didn't do as well as Dreyer against the same players.
